In this corridor, during the act break, a stranger spotted it and did a double-take.

"Is that...? wait... that's not Hamilton!", they said.

I seized my chance.

"It's Slamilton," I replied. "You know: 'Who slams, who jams, who tells their story.'"

And then, after a pause: "What's 'Hamilton'???"

About 10 years ago I bought a pair of heavy wool hunting plus sixes online from some European outdoors retailer thinking they would be fun to wear on a Tweed Ride. They were too small and I never wore them.

Rediscovered them in a trunk this weekend and put them on this morning. They fit! And they feel great, exposed calves are very cooling but my legs and knees are protected... could see myself gardening in them in summer. And now my dream of looking like an Edwardian sportsman is almost complete. I'm riding my bike into town later today and I'm definitely going to wear them.
