This boring looking rectangle with holes in it has a tolerance of +/- .0015"! It was a fun challenge to figure out how to hit that requirement with the tooling I have access to.

Spent a bit of time making the bulk job I'm running at work easier on myself!

Drill the hole, trim the Z axis down, then cutout down to .09" above stock bottom. Pause to wait for me to start paying attention, then cut everything out. Sometimes the parts jump out, and I need to watch for collisions. #cncmachining #CNCMachinist #lazy

My desk at work was falling apart, so I machined one! This was a really fun project to work on, glad we had some scrap material laying around.

The desk is made of Toplab, a wood resin countertop. The white surface is antimicrobial and actively kills germs, so its primary use case is medical labs. For my purposes, the entire desk is a dry-erase board with any kind of pen, including permanent marker! This shit is magic.

(Also, it is dishwasher safe. Not that it needs to be.)
