3/ #COBOL is basically multibillion dollar outsider art. Among other things, it has an ALTER statement that changes where a GO TO goes. So you can, from anywhere in the program, change what a goto anywhere else in the program does. I *think* this was deprecated in Cobol 85 and removed after, though

I remain deeply fascinated by software running for decades continuously and change over the years.
I might actually at this point really learn #cobol.
I'm however still wondering if "omg there's sooo much cobol still running" is true for europe - counter checking on e.g. job sites doesn't yield much. (Not as much as I expected?)
