This is incredible. I can't believe my country is siding with this fascist government up in the states.

I understand economically it's a big thing, but this is NOT what Costa Rica and Costa Ricans stand for.

These people deserve the opportunity to request asylum in Costa Rica or to be returned to the US, most of these people weren't caught illegally crossing the border, they are asylum seekers.

I love monkeys, they are so funny. That little young Capuchin monkey was pretty cool and enjoyed life with his mum who was resting. In Costa Rica, where they are called white-faced monkeys ("carablanca"), they usually occupy the wet lowland forests on the Caribbean coast.

It's a photo of a very young Capuchin monkey in Costa Rica. He's looking at me showing his tongue like a bad little kid.

It'a a place that I love because it's a spectacular river with incredible colors in winter time. The Sucio River (Rio Sucio) that crosses the Braulio Carrillo National Park takes its name from the color that its waters take due to the large amount of materials and sediments that it carries, coming from the central volcanic mountain range.

I took that photo last march...It's an incredible place known as Celeste River ! A river in Tenorio Volcano National Park of Costa Rica. It is notable for its distinctive turquoise coloration. The Celeste River also borders several hot springs and has one large waterfall. It takes about an hour to hike to the waterfall from the park's entrance.

J'ai pris cette photo en mars dernier... C'est un endroit incroyable connu sous le nom de Celeste River ! Une rivière du parc national du volcan Tenorio au Costa Rica. Elle est remarquable pour sa couleur turquoise caractéristique. La rivière Celeste borde également plusieurs sources chaudes et possède une grande cascade. Il faut environ une heure de marche pour atteindre la cascade depuis l'entrée du parc.

Today’s #coffee pick: went into my stash for a bag of Starbucks brand Christmas blend (I won’t say the year) which boasts a blend of #Sumatran, #CostaRican and #Ethiopian, with notes of mulling spices, vanilla and sugar plum. Whole bean this time, so into the grinder with you. (I really need to stop being afraid to grind my beans.) Then, #espresso machine up next. Nice aroma while brewing, but not as pronounced as I expected. Perhaps I’ve kept these beans too long. Perhaps I need to use this up. Immediately.

No syrup this time, I wanted to keep the extra flavoring to a minimum. I did top it off with crème brûlée creamer. Not getting much sugar plum or spices, maybe a hint. Definitely getting the vanilla and the earthiness, something which I’ve come to expect from such sources as Ethiopia, a definite pleasure to drink regardless of the branding. Nice addition to my #yuletide libations. Happy #Solstice

Tonight’s #kitchenexperiment is a unique twist on my recent #okonomiyaki theme: swap out scallions for diced-up regular sweet onions, add some chopped up yellow plantain banana… and you get what I choose to call a Tico-nomiyaki! The Lizano sauce on top instead of “normal” okonomiyaki sauce is optional, but a fun #costarican addition to this Japanese-Tico fusion.

So many times I want to use #Spanish #CostaRican popular sayings in my English work environment, that I’m thinking to share them on their own hashtag #FlyingPancake
