AND WHAT IF WE ALL JUST TOLD THE TRUTH?

That equity is easy; it’s just never been a priority.

That poverty is manufactured to keep the wealthy at the top.

That homelessness is a policy choice.

That the economy isn’t complex; it’s controlled and manipulated.

That you can’t afford a home, because the rich are hoarding them.

That hunger persists because capitalism doesn’t see feeding people as valuable.

That supermarkets exploit us, because food is a business, not a right.

That ecological collapse continues because stopping it threatens someone’s bottom line.

That billionaires exist because exploitation is legal and encouraged.

That we don’t live in democracies - we live under oligarchies dressed up as freedom.

That the system gaslights you, every time it blames you for the struggle it created.

That you can’t self-improve your way out of structural oppression.

AND THE BIGGEST LIE???

That nothing can change.

The truth...

Redistribute wealth.
Reclaim power.
Resource the people, not the elite.

It isn’t complicated.
It’s just constantly blocked by the top.

LET'S START TELLING THE TRUTH.

Japan recorded its hottest summer on record last year. Temperatures in June, July and August were 1.76 degrees higher than the average between 1991 and 2020. Between June and September, nearly 8,000 people in Tokyo were taken to hospitals for heatstroke - also a record.

Heatstroke claimed a record 263 lives in Tokyo last summer; many victims did not have air conditioning, or chose not to use it because of the high cost of electricity. By zeroing out basic water bills, the government aims to help people afford to use other cooling methods like air conditioning.

Hi all, I’m Carmen.
I’m here to connect with real people who care about real shit—fairness, community, the future of our planet, and what it means to live well right now in a broken system.

Facebook was killing my soul. I needed real conversations with people of substance, intellect, empathy, and critical thinking.

I’m learning to live slower, grow my own food, raise thoughtful humans, and think deeply about the world we’re inheriting and the one we’re passing on.

I believe the status quo is deeply failing us—from housing to health, justice to climate—and I’m not here to be polite about it anymore. I’m starting to speak up about things, instead of living in my head and feeling powerless.. and it feels good!

Inequality, capitalism’s failures, and the need for real, collective change. Not just survival, but something better for humanity.

If that resonates, I’d love to connect.

Yes, Australia is likely to follow if Canada tips into recession. Even if we avoid a technical recession, real living standards here are already falling—wages, housing, and services are all under strain.
As for mass immigration, it’s helping headline GDP and supplying cheap labour, but per capita outcomes are going backwards. Without matching investment in infrastructure, housing, and wages, the policy is becoming economically and socially unsustainable.

Victoria announces free public transport for under-18s in 2026
theguardian.com/australia-news

From 1 January 2026, anyone under 18 can travel free on all forms of public transport including trams, trains, buses and coach services. This will apply in Myki and non-Myki areas throughout all of Victoria.

I see this as good for public transport and reducing reliance on cars, great for students, and progress on tackling the cost of living for families.

Bought some wood for a job at the allotment two weeks ago and a 3m length was £8.99. Priced the same piece today and it was £11.44. Cost of living crisis is still here even though no one is talking about it anymore. #allotment #CostOfLivingCrisis

We had our rental inspection this morning, I think it was fine but I won't know for certain until they get back to us and we resign the lease.

Did you know that renters in other countries don't have to jump through these hoops? That long term renting is normalised in other countries because renting isn't just seen as a step in the ladder to house ownership?

Australia has to do something, because fewer people are able to buy houses so will be renting their entire lives. Having a 6-monthly reminder (and often more frequently!) that you can be homeless at almost no notice because someone just feels like it is a leading cause of stress and has poor effects on both mental and physical health.

This is becoming worse now that home ownership is also seen as just a step in the property investment ladder, and that the goal is shifting from owning your own home to owning investment properties.

Some sobering numbers to think about as you vote today. The numbers behind the are important but these ones are, in my opinion, more important!

👉🏻 If you’re struggling with the cost of living, you should check if you can claim benefits or increase your current benefits.

You might be able to claim certain benefits even if you work, have savings or own a home.
