Today I called the Washington office of Congressman Nick . I begged him to vote NO on the because it will add $3.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade, & because it will take away funding for for 16 million Americans, which would be a .

State experiments with #WorkRequirements have been plagued with administrative issues, such as eligible enrollees' losing #coverage over paperwork problems, & budget overruns. Georgia's work requirement, which officially launched in July 2023, has cost >$90 million, with only $26 million of that spent on #health benefits, according to the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute, a nonpartisan research organization.

The deepest cuts to #healthcare spending come from a proposed #Medicaid #WorkRequirement, which would cut off #coverage for millions of enrollees who do not meet new employment or reporting standards.

In 40 states & DC, all of which have expanded Medicaid under the #ACA, some Medicaid enrollees would have to regularly file paperwork proving that they are working, volunteering, or attending school at least 80 hours a month or that they qualify for an exemption, such as caring for a young child.

The #CBO estimates the Senate bill would increase the deficit by nearly $3.3T from 2025 to 2034, a nearly $1T increase over the #House-passed bill, which CBO has projected would add $2.4T to the debt over a decade.

The analysis also found that 11.8 million more Americans would become #uninsured by 2034 if the bill became #law, an increase over the scoring for the House-passed version of the bill, which predicts 10.9M more people would be without #health #coverage.

The changes made to #Trump’s big tax bill in the #Senate would pile trillions onto the nation’s #debt load while resulting in even steeper losses in #healthcare #coverage, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said in a new analysis, adding to the challenges for #Republicans as they try to muscle the bill to passage.

Days since running coverage on tests found a bug in the tests: 0

This time, a generator had already been exhausted, before we tried to iterate over it. The lack of coverage highlighted the problem.

Code:

        append_images = (Image.new("RGB", (1, 1), color) for color in colors)
        im_reloaded = roundtrip(im, save_all=True, append_images=append_images)

        for im_expected in append_images:
            im_reloaded.seek(im_reloaded.tell() + 1)
            assert_image_similar(im_reloaded, im_expected, 1)

And then Codecov warns these last two lines weren't covered.
