As a new covid variant (NB 1.8.1) rapidly spreads, this is the perfect time to start taking covid-safety measures, if you haven't done yet. Wearing masks or respirators; getting your boosters; practicing safe-distancing; using air purifiers; and much more.

Even if something is out of your means, such as respirators, wearing a simple cloth mask is better than nothing. There are many low-cost or no cost ways to maximize their protection capabilities.

Don't just protect yourself, but others as well. Prevention is a form of community care, remember that. Solidarity with disabled and immunocompromised makes us stronger. ✨

Thought 1: We - me and my partner - were the only two people masked in the event. We were there only a short time, in great part because there were probably 50-60 people in the auditorium/gym of the church* who shared their space for the event. It attracted people from probably a 50 mile radius, and I guess we're the only ones who both 1) wanted info about local growing information and 2) also know COVID isn't over.

Super curious about how many people end up sick as a result; but that's not information that gets shared in any official capacity, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

*Although the church provided the space, it wasn't a church event, per se; rather, an unofficial town event.
