If this was a character in a game, I bet it would be one of those who isn't going to fight you, but also isn't really an ally in your cause. Nice - but neutral. Not getting involved in your conflicts, not caring much about outside things even when they are important to others. (Could maybe be convinced to help though as long as it's not too much trouble, though.)
He could be a vendor, selling the small things he finds in the swamps - leftovers from adventurers eaten by alligators - in exchange for interesting snacks and things he can't get on his own. And sometimes, just in exchange for some gossip. Because the idyllic life in the wilds can at times feel a tad bit isolated.

#Conceptart for the player character in The Moon my Destination. There are lots of pattern options for the #mooncalf. What do you think?

Some of the dark ones don't seem to work that well, some that obscure the outline as well. Personally, I like the gold in 4, the oryx pattern in 11, and 6 and 7 also have something... but then I like all of them somewhat.

Mischief is the only word that can be used in regard to Brownies. They are small, they are noisy and they are the biggest show- offs you are ever likely to meet.
Naked and hairy with outrageous hair and beards, pink bottoms and sticky-out ears, they are, on the surface, seemingly harmless and rather amusing.
They live in the little holes you find in very old and very large trees and when they hear walkers they will leap out, prancing along the boughs and branches or through the grass at your feet, waving their hands and showering you with hollow compliments and absurd promises.
Their aim is to distract you from your path, then once you are so deep into the bushes that you can’t find your own way back they then claim that they can lead you back to safety. Only this is not their intention. Far more likely is that you will end up in Strangehollow swamp, stumble into psychedelic mushrooms, or be roaming lost forever. Meanwhile, the Brownies will steal anything shiny or precious from your person and make off with it.

Fairies lay eggs, those eggs hatch into caterpillars and then subsequently those wriggly wee grubs mutate into chrysalis in order to transform into their adult selves. The Craggle is the caterpillar form of the Leatherwing fairy’s lifecycle. They are not only carnivorous but more specifically, cannibals.
In order to reach chrysalis form, the Craggle must dine on its cousin, the Wiffle. It is a very ugly and unpleasant looking creature that sprouts growths out of its back which resembles fungi, helping it to blend into its favourite hunting spots. He can then ensconce himself in a ring of mushrooms and go completely unnoticed, much to the horror of the Wiffle.
He is very slow moving, however, he possesses a very long and sticky blue tongue which he uses like a frog, to shoot out and capture his blissfully unaware prey. It is just as well that the common fairy is a prolific breeder.
The Craggle takes nearly three months to reach chrysalis form in comparison to the two weeks of the Wiffle. The reason for this is due to the number of caterpillars they must eat in order to reach chrysalis stage.

The Darkling Glib is a deeply territorial creature and one which you must wish to never meet. His smile is deceiving as his intentions are most definitely malicious.
These creatures hunt in packs and can take down larger animals very easily if necessary. They are omnivorous often preying on living beasts and they work exceedingly well together to create an ambush or silently sneak up on an unsuspecting victim.

In Strangehollow, there are five distinct fairy genus: the common fairy, Tree fairy, Leatherwing, Lichen fairy and Water fairy.
All of the fairies lay eggs, but only the common fairy’s eggs have a subtle glow to them. The eggs of the common fairy can be seen on trees at night and are easily mistaken for small clusters of fireflies. These eggs need careful monitoring by the fairies to make sure they are not taken by birds, they hatch after a week of incubation. The hatchlings appear as rather beautiful and translucent caterpillars known as Wiffles - a colloquial name that was given by the forest people. They will then make their way to the forest floor in search of food. These little caterpillars must eat massive amounts of psychedelic fungi in the next two weeks in order to prepare for the chrysalis phase. These mushrooms are poisonous to all other creatures in the forest, although they have been known to be used in advanced necromancy spells.
At dusk, these little caterpillars will appear like beautiful lanterns and make short work of the fresh growth of fungi. Unfortunately, this penchant for one particular food makes them easy prey.

A bunch of months trying to do species design; Thinking of an evolutionary paths linked to birds and pangolins and a bit of a primate, They got increasingly monkey-like as time went on and I prefer it that way, I didn't want them to look too humanoid. I need to update the 3d sculpt to reflect the new body shape but I feel lazy about doing it because I will have to replace all the scales.
