The art of giving a F**k

Do you need time?

It’s that time of year again when we start reflecting on everything that’s happened. January feels like it was just yesterday, and this year has truly been a rollercoaster. I recently shared some thoughts with someone who feels the same way, and we agreed that every year has its ups and downs. But what really matters is that we made it through—both of us did.

The world can feel so dark, and we often ignore what truly matters while we keep chasing after things that don’t fulfill us. We find ourselves in relationships that come with strings attached, expecting our partners to carry the weight of our needs. We pursue careers with the mindset that we want to be like those who have already made it. We’re constantly seeking validation, setting the bar impossibly high. The economy is a mess, with inflation swinging back and forth.

The news is filled with stories of genocide, war, and people hurting each other. And then there’s Gen Z, always coming up with the next big trend. It’s all chaotic, and no matter how much we try to ignore it, we’re all affected in one way or another. It feels like a lose-lose situation, and it’s hard to look forward to the coming year. Yet, there are still some perks waiting to be shared. What I really need is to get on my knees and surrender to the Lord, asking for His intervention.

I could take a vacation and post a smile for the ‘gram, but if my soul isn’t at peace, what’s the point? My faith has been my anchor this year; I’ve fought battles that made me question, “What on earth is this generational curse?” A wise person once said, “If it doesn’t happen to you, who will it happen to?” The glitz and glam aren’t always what they seem.

Pensamiento «Un hombre corriente (o no)

Feliz martes. Dale a «Me gusta» si te gusta, comenta libremente y suscríbete si quieres recibir más entradas mías. Aún no lo has hecho, ¿verdad? Abrazos enormes, muchas gracias.

You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

Save game!!!

For those not in the know, “save game” in Paper Computer Games is a command which you say after you lose, and it rewinds time to before you lost.

So after PCGs achieve world fame, (because of course it will 😝), everyone will get the joke. The perfect opener to my autobiography because it ties into what would then be a major franchise I’d be known for, but also sets up a book about my life!

Daily writing prompt You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence? View all responses

This is the second time they’ve given us a daily prompt about our autobiography. This is so lame. So exceptionally lame.

Try these on for size…

  • He was grotesquely obese, mentally and physically. Then he went under the knife and had his guts butchered and rearranged. Then he was only grotesquely obese mentally.
  • He had no real brains to speak of, no talents, nothing special at all and yet somehow he lived a long time without accidentally blowing himself to smithereens.
  • He was a Rush fan, but was Rush a fan of him? Probably not.
  • First he was a red head. Then he was a husband and a step father. Then he was old.
  • Soft as a sneaker full of shit.
  • Cursed from day one with red hair.
  • A roll model for how to be a bad person without being a nazi.
  • At least he wasn’t a fascist like so many other Americans.
  • How to always say exactly the wrong thing: A red head’s story.
  • Inside the red head’s head there was nothing but mud.
  • If ever there was a life that wasted too much time and energy on Star Wars, this was it.
  • Mad Eye Moody said it best in Harry Potter #4: “his head may be filled with sawdust.”

Those are all possibilities, but there is one that would sum them all up perfectly. One that would be the first line of my autobiography, the last line of my autobiography, every line of my autobiography……….

Meh.
