During my college years in LA, I met this obscure band called Oingo Boingo They were so good that I offered to be their publicist. And when I came back to SF, I continued to see them when they performed here. Danny Elfman's music career grew exponentially, and last night, the San Francisco Symphony played music he wrote for all Tim Burton's movies, and Danny sang. Davies was packed with adoring fans.
At the end of the program, Danny said, "We started in LA, but our success really began in San Francisco. We were a little too weird for LA, but we weren't too weird for San Francisco."
