Links eine Blüte, die sich noch entwickelt und konkav ist. Wenn sie erblüht, wölbt sie sich konvex nach aussen. Ein schwarzer Punkt in der Mitte zieht Insekten an.

manchmal ist der Mittelpunkt der Blüte auch rot.

verblüht entwickeln sich die Früchte und der Fruchtstand wird maximal-konkav. Hier noch eine tolle Feuerwanze.

Wilde Möhren verblüht und in Blüte wiegen sich im Wind.

Hier wachsen zwei Sorten der Wilden Möhre: Dara und … äh ... die weiße.

Carrot stick, white with blue and purple streaks throughout.

A carrot from last year's population. I never got around to planting them this year for seed. Some are still alive, but most have perished in the fridge.

It's time to clean them up and see if I can get them to make seeds for me under lights in the basement.

Carrots have a biennial life cycle. They grow edible roots the first year, then produce seeds in their second year.

It is somewhat involved to cleanly make specific crosses, but it is pretty easy to grow overwintered roots next to each other and let the pollinators do their thing. I had one dark-purple root in the parent population and enough hybrids turned up for my purposes.

Ce sont deux carottes, l’une a été semée en pleine terre et l autre est issue des plants de carottes réalisés par nos soins.

- La carotte blanche est celle qui a été semé en plein terre 2 semaines avant la réalisation des plants de carottes en serre.
- La carotte orange provient des plants de carottes produit en serre, elle ont été plantés en plein terre dès qu’elle ont obtenus leurs deux feuilles.
