Loin du Quartier des spectacles où devraient se concentrer la vie culturelle selon la vision officielle de ville, ces espaces défunts participaient à offrir un espace d’expression et de création originale et diversifié pour des communautés entières. Pour honorer ces espaces culturels disparus, le collectif Réverbérations d’une crise vous invite à une marche funèbre où le deuil lié à la perte de ces lieux chers sera amené à se transformer en rage festive pour revendiquer une autre vision de la ville.

Montreal, a vibrant city whose musical reputation resonates around the world. Yet in recent years, gentrification has forced the closure of many venues that once furled the city’s music scene. Far from the Quartier des spectacles, where cultural life is officially meant to be concentrated, these now-defunct spaces provided room for original and diverse expression and creation for entire communities.

To honor these lost cultural spaces, the collective Réverbérations d’une crise invites you to a funeral march, where the mourning of these beloved places will transform into festive rage, reclaiming a different vision for the city.
