I really got inspired by Marcus Bäumer from Backwoods studio with his talk Story Architects: The Interplay of Writing and Coding Stories for Games. You see, in my fantasies I am also a writer 😄 But still to make it happen. Though this Ink code looks intimidating, I can imagine what a mess it can be.

On the first day of #DDC2024 there was a whole track about AI in game development. And it was not bad, people emphasized on the idea, that AI is a tool, that can be leveraged in multiple ways in different professional areas, rather than replace people. I especially liked the presentation from Johanna Pirker who is a researcher and tried to show different ways to use AI in game design.

The first Keynote by Kelsey Beachum from Super Evil Megacorp was about importance of the story to be integrated into the game, rather than separated into a story wrapper. You can do so much more than a cutscene!

Right at the start of #ddc2024 we managed to get out a new release of Quilkin (Open source UDP Proxy for game server workloads), Moving the project to ✨beta✨ and adding loads of performance and bug fixes.
