Now, the #Chaos in Chaos Computer Club stands for chaos (get it?) and not for order and cleanliness. If I had wanted surveillance and law and order, I would have joined the CDU or become a cop. It is also impressive that the independent Internet is referred to as “radical anarchism” and that is obviously a bad thing. And now we don’t know exactly what a non-radical anarchism would look like? With a king? Or a police state?
And what I always ask myself in the face of such authoritarian outbursts is: who then makes the rules that we are supposed to follow? Usually it is the fantasies of omnipotence of those who demand it. But why should we follow them? Where does the authority to decide for others come from?

Ich muss sagen, ich bin stolz auf das föderierte, dezentrale Internet. Ich bin da, wenn auch nur als Nutzer und Unterstützer, schon sehr lange dabei, von Anfang an. Es ging dabei nie um private Vorlieben, sondern um die Wiederermächtigung im Internet. Ich habe das auch immer aus Musikersicht gesehen, denn wir sind alle eingesperrt (ich auch) in dieser zynischen, proprietären Welt. In der weder Kunst noch Meinungsäußerung möglich ist. Das muss noch nicht mal böse gemeint sein, es liegt in der Natur der Sache. Umso beeindruckender, wie weit sich das entwickelt hat. Auch wenn es wirklich Kunst bis jetzt nicht in großen Maßstäben gibt,ist es doch nicht mehr möglich, einfach die Dinge totzuschweigen.
Bei der üblichen Opfer-Täterumkehr, die wieder extrem betrieben wird, bei den täglichen Lügen, kann es nicht mehr bleiben. Auch und im Besonderen durch das dezentrale Netz, ist die schreckliche Wahrheit nicht mehr aufzuhalten. Auch wenn es manchmal unerträglich ist, die zerstückelten Kinderleichen zu sehen, jemand muss sie sehen… die Welt kann sie sehen.
Also all ihr #Devs und Unterstützer, die sich manchmal fragen, ob es das alles wert ist. Ist es!! Seid stolz auf euch!

I have to say, I’m proud of the federated, decentralized Internet. I’ve been there for a very long time, from the very beginning, if only as a user and supporter. It was never about personal preference, but about re-empowerment on the Internet. I’ve always seen it from a musician’s point of view, because we are all locked up (including me) in this cynical, proprietary world. In which neither art nor expression of opinion is possible. This is not necessarily meant to be bad, it is in the nature of things. All the more impressive how far it has developed. Even if there really is no art on a large scale yet, it is no longer possible to simply silence things with silence.
The usual reversal of the roles of victim and perpetrator, which is being practiced to an extreme degree again, the daily lies, cannot continue. Also and in particular because of the decentralized network, the terrible truth can no longer be stopped. Even if it is sometimes unbearable to see the dismembered corpses of children, someone has to see them… the world can see them.
So to all the #devs and supporters who sometimes wonder if it’s all worth it: It is! Be proud of yourselves!

@nlnet Thanks for forwaring this. In my survey, I stressed the importance of reliable #infrastructure that is #accessible to all as #FOSS can provide it. Also challenging the #EU to step up for open standardizations and interoperable infrastructure in a #decentral #market - both for data and software. As I see it, funding in this area will increase cyber-#resilience at least and additionally secure self-governance and #sovereignity in all sectors: #politics, #economy, #society.
@Castopod is rolling out a #plugin interface, already documented. This opens up a lot of freedom for users and developers to customize the #podcast platform. Now, you cannot only self-host but small improvements for your use-case do not need to go through the main development process any more. Faster and #decentral development ahead!
Some of the open feature requests are surely a case for plugins!

Wenn #Threema bespielsweise an eine andere dubiose Firma verkauft wird, dann ist eventuell auch nicht mehr sicher gestellt, dass keine #Metadaten erhoben werden. Ebenso wäre es auch möglich, dass #Threema ihr Geschäftmodell ändert und dann doch anfängt Metadaten zu sammeln.
