Brought the new computer I spent a lovely hard-earned $2,350 on back to the shop. DRAM LED was steady on, since power on. Wasn't posting, despite trying everything imaginable.
If it's faulty RAM, that can be swapped out. Easy fix.
If the motherboard is faulty/defective, the whole thing has to be replaced (worse case scenario).
I will find out by tomorrow what the deal is, and if they found out the cause of the problem.
This proves newer isn't always better.

Defective by design.
A local hardware supplier in the UK "Screwfix" has an app which you can use to order stuff. Unfortunately it has a problem.
If I try to add a bank card in the checkout then the last stage asks me to confirm the transaction in my bank app. So I switch to the bank app and do that.
The problem is because I switched away from the #Screwfix app it auto-cancels the entire checkout and card.
It is actually impossible to add a card in the app.

TIL there is only one general #electronics parts retailer on #VancouverIsland, h/t to @Dero_10 and @Caution. The company is Queale Electronics, dba Interior Electronics Ltd.
However, after calling to ensure the specific required part was available in stock before driving an hour to purchase it, I was informed they were out of stock. Apparently the latest shipment, like the previous shipment, was #defective.
This may explain why no one has the product in stock.
