Sometimes I wish I didn't have a job that required thinking so much. It just makes it so much harder when distracted. With a good simple physical labour job, you can usually allow muscle memory to do most of the work, allowing the mind to wander where it will (within reason - obviously safety must be considered).

Doing work that requires mental focus, problem solving, working through complex topics... Becomes exponentially more difficult when one's mind has been hijacked by the cyclone of feels and fantasies and memory-traps that swirl around during disruptive life events.
