I respectfully suggest that there is a difference between "insane" and "mentally ill". Remember RD Laing's dramatic insight that so-called schizophrenia is "a sane response to an insane world"? The plastic still being on the screen only means you're an absolute dork. It does not mean your used rig is worth double the price for it new from GigaParts.

Searched google shopping for Yaesu FT-991a and sorted the result by price hi-to-low.

One of the most expensive ones (excluding mis-match on model number) was this absolute DWEEB eBay posting with the title including "LCD Protective Sheet Present".

That means nothing.

I'd bet he ran FT8 on it at full power, until the finals blew. Now thinks his used price that is DOUBLE what I would pay for a new one from GigaParts right now, is gonna happen because he didn't peel the plastic off.

"Let us assume for the sake of the argument that "our immune systems have been disrupted by Covid" - which I believe is totally unevidenced. Then, how would that have any bearing on the risk of H5N1 spillovers, given that essentially no one has significant immunity to it."
