After an incredibly frustrating call with Lorex support in which they wanted me to get another phone, find a transformer, and talk to anyone else in the house, I finally got my non-cloud, non-subscription doorbell to work by uninstalling all the security software on my phone, resetting the doorbell without its SD card, and finally rebooting my router, and cursing a lot.

Finally: I bought the Netatmo because (1) it stores footage on my home server, not in the cloud (more secure, no cop access); (2) it’s integrated with Apple HomeKit. Can anyone recommend another smart #doorbell w these features? Netatmo got acquired and discontinued theirs and, though they claim to support > 2029, my mileage has varied. I live in an area where I really don’t want to answer my glass door at night, and I want to know if someone’s on my stoop at 3 am (which happens a lot actually.)

Anyone have a wired #smart #doorbell that they like?

A friend gave me his old Arlo kit and I installed the doorbell which is working, but it's practically useless without the subscription. Notifications and a live view is all it does.

I would like local recording and I'd rather not have to buy additional gear to use it (so no Unifi no matter how awesome you think it is). HomeKit secure video is a plus, but not necessarily required. Oh and it needs to work with my existing mechanical chime.
