Half a boiled aromatic duck in with halved medium potatoes with skins on

Then added the hoisin sauce into the boiling water.

Continue to add potatoes, then sweetcorn, carrots, & more peas for duck cakes.

A hard to describe picture of a mallard duck that is just below the surface of the water and kind of twisting itself about as though being savaged by a shark in Jaws or like a horse rolling in the hay - probably it is having a bit of a wash?

🇺🇸 The mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) is one of the most colorful and visually striking duck species in the world. Native to East Asia, it has been introduced to parts of Europe, where small feral populations now exist. Measuring around 41–49 centimeters in length with a wingspan of up to 75 centimeters, mandarin ducks weigh between 500 and 700 grams. Males are unmistakable with their ornate plumage, featuring bright orange “sails,” a purple chest, and bold facial patterns. Despite their exotic appearance, mandarin ducks are agile flyers and often perch in trees near calm waters. They feed on seeds, acorns, aquatic plants, and small invertebrates.

🇩🇪 Die Mandarinente (Aix galericulata) zählt zu den farbenprächtigsten Entenarten der Welt. Ursprünglich in Ostasien beheimatet, kommt sie heute auch in Teilen Europas vor, wo sich kleinere, freilebende Populationen etabliert haben. Sie wird etwa 41–49 Zentimeter lang, erreicht eine Flügelspannweite von bis zu 75 Zentimetern und wiegt rund 500–700 Gramm. Besonders die Männchen sind mit ihrem auffälligen Gefieder unverwechselbar: orangefarbene „Segel“, eine violette Brust und kontrastreiche Kopfzeichnungen. Trotz ihres exotischen Aussehens sind Mandarinenten gute Flieger und sitzen häufig in Bäumen in Gewässernähe. Ihre Nahrung besteht aus Samen, Eicheln, Wasserpflanzen und kleinen Wirbellosen.
