In front of a shop called ‘Minty Rose’ are two folding chairs and a table. They are painted in a pretty shade of blue. On each chair is a cushion with the words ‘Meer Mädchen' (Sea girl) written on it. The shop window is decorated with clothing and accessories, all in shades of pink and brown. This matches the front of the building, which is light in colour with a pinkish-brown tinge. Next to the shop window is an open green door. There are also plants in front of the window. I think it looks inviting.

We are at the seaside. In the foreground is a flat concrete bench. It is illuminated by the sunlight, which gives the concrete a warmer appearance. The sea can be seen beneath the bench and, of course, behind it. It is high tide.

Hidden in the dunes, we look through the reeds at the beach and the sea in front of us. Here and there, colourful dots can be seen on the beach. These are strollers in their cosy winter jackets.

Ahead of us lies a path with a wooden railing. To the left and right, grass grows on low dunes. At the end of the boardwalk, the sand begins, and beyond it lies the sea. It is a sunny day; the sky and sea are blue.

Blue water can be seen in the lower part of the picture. Above it is a blue sky with lots of small white clouds. They surely have a meteorological name, but I don't know what it is. Houses can be seen between the sky and the water. They have terraces facing the water. A little further on, the water bends. There are more houses there in the sun and a bridge connecting the two banks. It is pretty.

This is #Westerhammrich, a recreational area (approximately 1 km² in size) in #Leer. At the heart of the area is a lake, known as Kolksee. Whenever I am here, I am reminded of the Shire. Can you see it, too? 😊

That's how I like the cycle paths in East Frisia. Straight, concrete and trees on both sides. A small avenue in the sunshine.

A telescope stands in front of a vast landscape with green meadows and a cloudy but blue sky. However, it is not long and thin, but rather a silver installation reminiscent of a Cyberman from Doctor Who. Someone has also painted eyelashes over the peepholes. It looks as if the telescope is looking at me.

The same motif, but this time you can also see the mount on which the telescope is mounted. Behind it, fields stretch as far as the eye can see.

Photo 8 also does justice to #MeerMittwoch. Why, you ask? There's only a lake to be seen! Well, here in East Frisia, the sea (North Sea) is called ‘die See’ (the lake). Lakes (i.e. small, enclosed bodies of water) are called ‘Meer’ (sea) here. There is Ewiges Meer (Eternal Sea) and Großes Meer (Great Sea) – both of which are lakes 😊
