Pink Clover Flower after Rain - a wet bright pink clover flower after a summer rain storm. The flower is a bright pink and white surounded by various shades of green in soft focus.

The latin name for pink clover is Trifolium pratense L.. It is a short lived perennial wildflower and grows randomly in our garden. Our honeybees love this clover. At a closer look like in this macro photograph its beauty is revealed.

The red cloever and leaves are edible. It can be used as garnish and used in recipes. It can even be made into flour. Around my area it is grown as food for life stock and groundcover to heal the soil.

Fennel Fern with Water Droplets - a fennle fern branch crossing horizontally with tiny water drops hanging on its fine branches. The background has warm narural browns and greens in soft focus. Fennel is a flowering herb plant in the carot family. It is quite hardy and comes back every year. It has fethery green leaves and when it just comes in the bushes look like tiny red fox tails. Ours is not blooming yet, but when it does it has tiny yellow flower clusters much like the white one carrots get. We grow the fennle to use in cooking as well as a food source for our butterly caterpillars. During my morning photo savaries I can smell the fennle before I even reach my garden. If I brush passed it the smell is intoxicating. The healthbenefits of fennel are amaxing. It is good for the digestion, heart and reduces inflamation. It also supresses appetite. Photographic the fennel fern can be chanllenging. Photographing it with rain droplet even more so. But I love the abstraction it creates. Perhaps you fall in love with it just the same.
