Don't let your chive blossoms go to waste! 🌸 I'm making a stunning pink-hued chive blossom vinegar. Just steep the flowers in white wine vinegar for a week or two. It creates a beautiful, savory infusion that's perfect for salad dressings. So simple & delicious! #Preserving #EdibleFlowers

Closeup of a scattered clump of about 30-50 small bright yellow Lemon drop. Reach flower on top of a single green stalk has five short and wide bright yellow petals. They have a shape similar to a wide version of the standard drawn heaters shape. A small tight bunch of yellow stalks are in the middle of each flower.

Recent Chicory flowers (great to sprinkle on salads); stinging nettles (great for risotto, tortelloni fillers, gnocchi, frittata, croquettes and much more); wild blueberries (or bilberries) super tasty and full of antioxidants.

Silver #cockscomb - very similar to amaranth.
Originally native to #India - it was saved from extinction through #cultivation because of its religious significance. #Indian , #Burmese & #Chinese gardeners usually plant them by temples.

Cockscomb is an #EdiblePlant & a pretty #grain alternative. Often consumed in southern #Nigeria, #Benin , #Congo & #Indonesia. Young stems & flowers are #edible. Seeds are also edible are referred to as #pseudocereals.

Close-up of a hand cradling a large, vibrant cluster of bright magenta-red cockscomb flowers with a fuzzy, textured appearance. The flowers are the focal point, filling the hand and slightly overflowing, contrasting with the pale skin. Green and yellow foliage of the plant is partially visible in the background against a blurred gray background.

Nasturtiums are easy to grow and totally edible—flowers, leaves, and seeds! 🌼🌿 Plant in full sun, poor soil, and water sparingly. Pick blooms when fully open for the best flavor—peppery like rocket. Toss into salads, stuff with cream cheese, or use as a vibrant garnish. #edibleflowers #gardenchat

Foraging for edible flowers: chicory! Beautiful blue petals, perfect to toss on salads, especially fennel salad, which is delicious but very… white! Pick from fields, away from the road cookingwithflowers.blogspot.co

We love our roses. But apart from fragrance and majesty of the flower, there is one more reason.
Did you know you can make a jelly out of rose petals? and that not only it tastes yummy, but it has health benefits as well? When growing up, every time I went to my grandma's house for summer vacation, she would bombard me with her home remedies with whatever she felt needed curing with me. out of all her home remedies, this is the one I used to actually look forward to.
Rose Jelly is mild anti-oxidant and has cooling properties. which means a spoonful each day during summer months would help prevent heat related ailments like nosebleeds and dizzyness. it also is a good digestive aid.
Ofcourse it is sweet and therefore if you have problems with bloodsugar, this is not something you want to be chomping down.

Here is an easy recipe to make your own rose petal jelly. In India, especially in province of Maharashtra we call it Gulkand. It is best made with red or pink roses and fragrant ones.

First nasturtium flower of the year. These things are so easy to grow even an idiot like me can manage it. And when they are so beautiful, why wouldn’t you? Bonus - the flowers and leaves are both edible. #allotment #bloomscrolling #nasturtium #EdibleFlowers
