* file sharing service, integrated with #ownCloud and #libreoffice-based web office suite - alternative to google and office365
* #jupyter notebook service, linked with file sharing
* #kubernetes and #vm clusters

In #Switzerland , #Switch similarly provides open #federated services. Will it be one of the next #EOSC Nodes?

I really appreciate all the existing communication effort and outreach. The directorate and the consortia are doing a fine job.

One example: within #base4nfdi there is #IAM4NFDI. Until Tuesday there was never an explanation, why it is needed, as we have #EduGain. That could have been communicated better from start. Answer: There are differences. No details given.

🗝️ A new #eduGAIN constitution was approved in September 2023.

A milestone for the service that within 12 years grew from taking its first steps into interfederation to what is now the foundation of many services in the T&I space.

What do these scenarios mean for #GÉANT & the #NRENs?

According to our CCO Cathrin Stöver @cathrin "The balance is in the middle, and organisations such as GÉANT need to meet the requirements of the bottom-up – absolutely reliable services with continuity – and the top-down – allowing for a level of vision and oversight, including trends, changing politics, and policies."

Tuesday and Wednesday I was at the Research and Education Trust & Identity Town hall meeting in Stockholm, Sweden, kindly hosted by SUNET.

Reflecting on the this meeting, as a @SURF T&I member, the @geant project work package leader for #eduGAIN, and member of the #REFEDS steering group, it was an good event that blended the best of all my professional worlds, where
I presented the status and future of SURF T&I services, being #SURFconext, #eduID, #SRAM and #SURFsecureID.

Flexibility, subsidiarity are needed for the federation and inter-federation on a National and EU level of nodes for #EOSC. What is the governance? There is a need to study the #edugain model and its governance!!!
