One of many photos of us playing on playground equipment in the garden for #ThrowbackThursday today, circa 1980. I'm second from the left there and my little brother is on the right. The other two are twins we knew, Jewish, possibly called Yeshir and Chetin, but I've never been able to track anyone down by those names in later life.

A scan of a colour, square photograph taken around 1980. We're at the bottom end of a garden with short grass on it separated by a narrow concrete path. At this bottom end we can see a section fenced off in which bushes and compost is left and on the left of the view we can see the backs of houses, a shed, and separated by a wire fence from us there's the tail end of a neighbouring garden too. The main focus is on the four young boys and the equipment down here well away from the house. A metal swing frame is to the right, mostly out of view, just a couple of A-frame supports visible with chains for a swing but lacking any seat. Arranged perpendicular to it is a child's slide. Again, it's just a metal frame in an angled L-shape, with no sliding plastic area and just thin metal, rusted rungs in each part of it. The four young boys are arranged all over it. Two are on the slide section of the slide equipment, one is at its apex but resting back towards the adjacent swing frame, and one is climbing the slide steps but gripping the chains of the swing nearby. All four are looking at the camera and grinning. All four wear dark jeans and thick jumpers of varying styles. The fashion, the browning of the grass, the lack of leaves on the bushes, the overall muted colours suggest it's late or early in the year and a little chilly.

It's #ThrowbackThursday and here's our first foreign family holiday in the mid 1980s to Alcudia, Mallorca. The hotel was mostly occupied by German tourists and I recall seeing the young German man on the far side in his Miami Dolphins Dan Marino NFL shirt a lot. I was a Patriots fan even back then and knew the enemy when I spotted it.
