On the third night, a 1.28" round TFT display (https://bsky.app/profile/adafruit.com/post/3leccborle22w), and on the fourth a 1.8" round TFT with captouch overlay (https://bsky.app/profile/adafruit.com/post/3leg4y35r2k2k). we've over the hump and still going strong! Tonight, we did a 0.85" TFT breakout; it's 128x128 pixels and so tiny we had to put the breakout pads on opposite sides.

Hey #37c3-crowd or #ElectronicsDesign people... I got insipired at 37C3 and now I want to make a PCB which has some translucent parts (i.e. no green paint is applied on both sides).
What layer should I modify for this using #KiCad?

The 74LS123 is ‘retriggerable’, this means that if it gets retriggered while already active, it starts all over, keeping the output state ‘high’ (or ‘low’ if inverted) for the designed output pulse duration until the next trigger signal arrives.

This basically means that if the trigger signal occurs at shorter intervals than the output pulse duration, the output will stay active permanently.

Why would you ever want this?
One application could be to strip off some modulation of a digital signal, as an example the flickery LED candles.. They’re pulse width modulated: I can remove this with the 74LS123 after which, the random flicker sequence will be ready to capture and analyze 🙂

Boy did I strike luck in my search for NOS vintage Burr Brown integrated circuits: The UAF41 universal active filter 🤯😃

A few external resistors let’s you design an active filter 👌🏻

This may seem a bit useless today with DSPs and tons on cheap high-performance OP-AMPs, but remember this was the 70-80’s, (surely expensive) components like this would have been every hobbyist’s dream 🙂

I’ll test it in a future post, stay tuned 👍🏼

EE friends, any recommended PSpice circuit simulators for Mac? I tried LTspice but it’s UI is absolutely horrible on the Mac .. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I heard that KiCAD has it, but I’ve never tried it.
