Mandy Barker est une photographe primée engagée dans la lutte contre la pollution plastique marine. Depuis plus de 15 ans, elle collabore avec des scientifiques pour sensibiliser aux effets de cette pollution sur la vie marine et le climat. Ses œuvres ont été exposées dans des institutions prestigieuses comme le MoMA et le musée Victoria & Albert, et elle a remporté plusieurs prix, dont le Prix Pictet.

Barker participe à des expéditions pour documenter la pollution plastique et mène des ateliers de sensibilisation dans le monde entier. Elle a également créé une expérience de réalité virtuelle pour illustrer l’impact des plastiques dans les océans. En 2023, elle a remporté le International Understanding Through Photography Award pour sa contribution à la sensibilisation mondiale.

À travers ses photographies, Barker incite à l’action et encourage la protection des océans contre la pollution plastique.
