The prototype of my #SmartMeter reader that sends data via #LoRa is up and running. — but it stops updating after a few seconds. Only fix so far: reconnect the IR-Reader from 5V pin. Problem also appears after #ESP32 wakes from deep sleep. Next: stabilize firmware ( #ESPHome ) and 3D‑print a case.

Currently playing around with an ESP32-C3 SuperMini, a ENS160 air quality sensor, MQTT, Node-RED and Grafana.

Long story short: I hope my wife now will understand why the German "Stoßlüften" is so important. These charts will turn orange, red and purple quickly if you don't let fresh air inside.

​I dug through the parts bin and found an old Cirrus Logic CS5529 ADC (16-bit Delta-Sigma). Sure, I could use a modern I2C ADC, but where's the fun in that? Poorly documented SPI sounds better.
Spin up a custom ESP32 board and write a driver for this dinosaur from scratch.

So. Jetzt mal hoffen, das die letzten 14 Tage (abzgl. 7 Tage Erkältung) nicht Sinnloses Programmieren waren sondern dass das Projekt morgen so ab 11 am Ziel so läuft, wie es laufen soll.

Wenn der Code so läuft, werde ich das ganze Geraffel tatsächlich bei Github einstellen. kA wie der bedarf ist, aber ich habe tatsächlich keinen Code/Projekt/Repository gefunden, der das kann.

can't get a Bluetooth proxy working. Flashed two #esp32 thingies, both don't work as advertised. esp32- vroom and esp32-c3
I can see in logging homeassistant (docker) start connection, it states it's api version, then ha closes connection. esp boards set up connection too according to its logging.
Could it be a difference in api between ha and the boards? My setup is from 2024. A bit nervous to update and break a nice working setup with #mqtt

My garage remote died a while back, so I rebuilt the opener using an ESP32, a relay module, and HomeSpan (an open-source HomeKit Accessory Protocol implementation).

No vendor cloud, no subscriptions, no locked-down “smart” hardware. Just a simple, local, secure garage controller that works perfectly with HomeKit.

Подготавливая статью [1] к публикации, обратил внимание на картинку, показанную на рис. 1. Я сохранил ее, чтобы воспользоваться в будущем. И оно не заставило себя ждать, т.к. захотелось повысить наглядность решения, введя в него графику и используя именно эту картинку. К чему это привело, далее мы и поговорим. Все, что связано с картинкой, сделать не так уж сложно. Это довольно подробно описано в цикле статей по реализации графики в ВКПа (см. [2]). Для этого, во-первых, нужно создать графическое окно, установив данную картинку в качестве фона. Во-вторых, воспользоваться существующими заготовками контролов (элементов графического интерфейса), которые необходимо будет разместить на данном фоне.

I’ve reached the point where configuration and compilation isn't failing anymore 😅 So tomorrow I'll check and see if it actually works as intended, and then hopefully soon a cheeky PR.
