I've been thinking about picking up a distortion module for my #eurorack rig. I really want the Erica Synths Plasma distortion, but I have an Intellijel case that is too shallow. I'm leaning towards getting a Ruina Versio, because then I'll also have access to every other versio module by loading different firmware.
Do you have a favorite eurorack distortion module? If so, what is it?

The through hole component density of this Befaco Kickall is insanely high! When the boards are sandwiched together, components miss each other by fractions of a millimetre. Took me about 7 hours to solder, assemble, and calibrate. Everything seems to be working.

Here's a teaser video for the #vcvrack version of "dSpec" a #eurorack module I am working on. I also have my first hardware prototype up and running.
It is a direct spectral synthesis VCO meaning it builds a waveform from a harmonic spectrum. Five base algorithms generate an initial spectrum modulated under CV control.
It is duophonic: 2xVPOs , 2xOuts. A built-in quantizer constrains the generated notes to a selected scale and range.
This is a bit of a hack, but a profitable one. #Synth and #Eurorack people! I'm curious. Behringer gets a lot of crap for producing gear that are based on other companies' designs, so called "clones". What's your opinion on them releasing their own takes on Mutable Instruments' Eurorack modules? Since they were made open source by Mutable, and Mutable no longer makes them?

You know we're in a fallow period of #modular innovation when the majority of the new modules on ModularGrid are blank panels.
And so begins my journey into #Eurorack modular synthesis with a Voltage Controlled Oscillator as the first module installed in my DIY case. I've also made rudimentary adjustable legs that allow the case to be tilted to different angles.
I'm diving down the mini-rack rabbit hole. (and blaming @geerlingguy <g> )
Most build these racks for networking and RPi systems. I'm building one for radio equipment, and another as an outboard patch bay for my #eurorack synth.
I bought these two blanks as spacers so I can build a wooden cabinet around the rack rails. The blank will eventually be a power supply and mains switch. The cable entry one will have its brush removed and turned into a display. :-)
This is what has been occupying most of my time recently: A deep dive into the Eurorack Modular synth world. Between researching modules, watching videos, and meeting streamers who use this equipment, I have been deeply immersed. I have learned and lot. There is still a lot to learn. A few more modules are on the way. After that I will be just practicing as much as I can to try and improve my skills and learn the modules inside and out.
The end goal right now is live gigs.
