<p><a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/call-the-midwife-season-15-release-date/">Call the Midwife</a> fans will need to brace themselves ahead of the season 15 finale, which Helen George has described as "really emotional".</p><p class="x_x_x_ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message x_x_x_skipProofing">"There's this scene, I won't really go into detail, but it sort of encompasses all of the characters that we've had on the show over the last 15 years," said the Trixie actor at the <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/tag/radio-times-covers-party-2026/"><strong>Radio Times Covers Party 2026</strong></a>.</p><p class="x_x_x_ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message x_x_x_skipProofing">"And when I walked onto the set, I just sobbed, I sobbed like a baby. So if I was a mess – and I'm heart of steel – then the audience will be a mess as well."</p><p>Renee Bailey, who plays Joyce, went on to say that it's Call the Midwife "at its whole," adding: "It makes you laugh, it makes you cry. It's a hug and it's also heartbreaking. It's a mix of everything, but I think audiences are going to love it."</p><p>"I've been thinking about it more and more as we get into the spring", said Rosalind actor Natalie Quarry. "I think it really will, hopefully, stay with people."</p>

<p>The Walsh Sisters author Marian Keyes has said that she "never considered" the possibility that the BBC's new TV adaptation might not be to her liking.</p><p>Adapted from her books, the series follows a "dysfunctional, but deeply loveable" family comprised of five sisters, their devout mother and bemused father, all of whom are based in Dublin.</p><p>The synopsis teases: "This is a sisterhood full of in-jokes, hand-me-down resentments and more than a few old wounds.</p><p>"But their DNA, history and shared love of power ballads keep the Walsh sisters together in the face of heartbreak, grief, addiction and parenthood."</p><p>Keyes is attached to The Walsh Sisters as an executive producer, but told <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Radio Times</strong></a> that she certainly wasn't protective over her source material, which she happily handed over to screenwriter and co-star Stefanie Preissner.</p>
<p>"I knew Stefanie already, and I knew her work, and I recommended her as a writer because I really, really hoped that she would adapt it," she revealed. "But you don't know [how the series will turn out].</p><p>"The books are going to be altered as they're adapted, and then actors are going to interpret the role in the way that feels appropriate to them," elaborated Keyes.</p><p>"They will be directed by a director who has their own vision, and then it has to be edited, [so] it's impossible to exert any control. But <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/movies/the-secret-agent-how-to-watch/">The Secret Agent</a> – which will become the last of the nominees to arrive in UK cinemas when it is released tomorrow (Friday 20th February) – might just be the pick of the bunch.</p><p>The new film from writer/director Kleber Mendonça Filho is the second Brazilian film in two years to make the best picture line-up after Walter Selles's drama <a href="https://www.radiotimes.com/movies/how-to-watch-im-still-here/">I'm Still Here</a> achieved the same feat last year. Like that film, it explores a tumultuous period in the country's history – the military dictatorship that existed between 1964 and 1985 – although unlike it, it tells a fictional story inspired by the atmosphere of the time rather than a true story.</p><p>Narcos and Civil War star Wagner Moura, who has himself been nominated for best actor at the Oscars, takes on the lead role in the film.
