Fairfax VA did something fun, with folks organized at a bunch of major intersections. We probably had 40-50 at our spot, catching people in multiple directions. Lots of great energy from folks driving by, it was fabulous to see the support. Only half a dozen angry drivers the whole time we were there. #NoKings #Fairfax #VA

I just did some #electionofficer training in #fairfax VA. I think it’s some of the best around. They had a bunch of exercises you could do as an election chief that help you practice. There are weird edge cases in the law like people moving within the same precinct or from precinct to precinct. They have real cases you can work, real equipment running in training mode, and real materials you can practice on.

In my experience you could work 5 elections, helping 7500 voters and only run into these case a handful of times. Fun and useful practice.

I rescued a #leopardgecko from an animal shelter in Virginia two days ago! His name is Mango, age 7, and he was clearly beloved - he came with a whole trousseau of supplies and was quite a bit overfed. His previous middle school owner grew up and went to college, but these guys live for 20 years!

We were there last year and it was pretty rough compared to just a few years before. Dirty streets, lots of vacant storefronts. Canters is waaaay past its prime and we will never go back.

The Golden State, my all time fav burger spot, did not survive either. Sad to see the decline
