Painter / saxophonist Davie (1920-2014) was born locally in #Grangemouth.

I took this photo a few years ago. It shows one of The Kelpies, two 30 metre monumental high horses heads sculptures by artist Andy Scott. This is the highest equine sculpture in the world. Constructed of stainless steel shards, this powerful horse’s head is looking upwards into the sky with light permeating the metal structure. The sheer scale and effect of the light are stunning, dominating the surrounding area. All against a blue sky with a wispy cloud or two. This commemorates industrial heritage and kelpie folklore. A must-see if you are ever in Scotland.

Falkirk Council has hit a key climate target five years ahead of schedule.

The local authority has cut its organisational carbon emissions by 75 per cent based on 1990 levels.

The council’s 2024/25 emissions figures confirm the reduction, which is a major milestone in its work towards Net Zero.

A target of a 75 per cent reduction in emissions, from 1990 levels, by 2030 had been set out in Falkirk Council’s Climate Change Strategy
