Not sure if it's prepping or not but wow, I got a huge harvest of mushrooms today. I had completely forgot that I planted them in early September. Apparently, if they like where they are, I could get harvests for 5 years before having to spread spawn again. I sauteed them in butter and put them in the freezer. (the ones we didn't snarf down still hot from the pan)

Stepping back in the Wayback Time Machine to 2021.

While visiting family in Reno, we got to spend some time at @ferrarifarms Pumpkin Patch 🎃.

We explored the corn maze 🌽 on site. It was quite challenging for me. Even in the daylight, I struggled to make sense of where to go next. My kids were disappointed in me.

Thank goodness we didn't attempt the maze at night!

Pumpkin patch blues.

Autumn is my favorite season. I love the colors, the changing leaves, the crisp air.

We now live where there is no noticeable change in the seasons, which has me missing those joys of autumn.

So, I'm spending a little time reflecting on those times when I enjoyed all the fall things.

Sow kohlrabi seeds in early August for a tasty fall harvest by October! Both the leaves and the bulbous stems are edible—try them raw in salads, roasted with herbs, or stewed into cozy dishes. A cool-season veggie that thrives as summer fades. 🌱🥗🔥 #gardening #fallharvest #kohlrabi

I took this in the #Loblaws at #Yonge & #StClair back in 2019. It captured my eye as I never heard of some of these types of #apples. One of my favs, #CosmicCrisp didn't make this chart, but it's on the sweeter side. I love these in #pies, #crumbles & just fresh cut with peanut butter &/or cheese.
Which one/s are your favourite? #applepicking #produce #fallharvest

Some final fall harvest: #Daikon, a few small carrots and eggplants, and a watermelon of dubious quality.

It's always a bit of a shock when the mania of performance season winds down. Going from full throttle to coasting. With only a couple of Fund Raising gigs on the books, AUTUMN is the "bridge" between summer performances & a winter of hunkering down indoors to learn new pieces that Gregg Hansen, our esteemed leader, comes up with for next year.

Thus the "break" is over & the NEW work begins. But it's why we stay & why we keep coming back! 2025 will bring some new & interesting rhythms & arrangements likely to be complex twisty to challenge & delight us.

We're SO grateful for each of our members who've decided that we're a group you want to follow & keep up with". We hope you stay with us and always know that you're welcome to comment, ask questions, and participate fully & we encourage you to do so!

Happy Autumn everyone! No matter what you'll be harvesting, we hope it's bountiful.
