Does anybody know of any good resources about deprogramming people from far right disinformation / propaganda?
To explain: An old friend has asked me for help. Her son, who I haven't seen for several years now, was an absolutely lovely, highly empathetic boy, who would go out of his way for anyone no matter what.
But, I'm told he's been following far right influences on socials, and has become very angry and hateful, regurgitating the most horrible nonsense shit about immigrants, democratic structures, etc...
His mother is a Civil Servant, who he now views as the "enemy", who is apparently the one "brainwashed", and so nothing she says will ever get through to him.
This is in the UK, and another sad case of someone naturally good who has been taken.
I have 20 years armature learning of psychology, so I'm looking for something in depth, that assumes at least a fundamental understanding of psychology, though my understanding is more expansive.
I assume that I would need to reverse those fundamental misinformation building blocks, which enables everything else built on top to be flipped opposite / inside out, but to seem like common sense logic because of that fundamental misunderstanding belief.
