All very good reasons the venture capitalists would be happy with this solution.

While I wasn't turning up the video with a quick search, Isaac Arthur had an episode discussing realistic predicted #FasterThanLight communication options. One of the points he makes is the likelihood of a "few kilobytes limit" and how that would still allow needed-for-normal-life communication like text & email, but not consumer-level content like streamed video. This would allow the exact #InternetFastLane that the business cultists want, so they could probably be persuaded to back the public good.
