Снова пыхтит, снова нихуя, снова вываливается системный format. «Ну давай как на маке попробуем разметить», думаю. Хуйнаны, системный форматёр маздая знает только NTFS и exFAT, а #iPod работает с #FAT32 или #HFS

Lovely reorganizing my audio 'archive' to my networked 1TB HDD on a PI4.
BUT my home drive uses #linux #ext4 format filenames and the networked drive is MS #FAT32! Hence the nice #BBCSounds titles have to lose the "?%:" characters, which for the series "More or Less" is the majority!
So, left with a residual set which luckily as #Thunar has #regex based renaming, I can fairly easily trim down. However handling MS DOS filenaming does remind me of my early software engineering days in the 1980s!
Das #iso-Image von #ArchLinux, welches zu Fehlern führte, stammte aus dem Dezember. Also ein aktuelles geladen. Leider stieß ich nur auf dieselben Fehler, weshalb mein PC offenbar die Ursache ist. Schade. #Arch
Als Alternative hatte ich mir zwischenzeitlich #cachyOS besorgt. Das verlangt /boot als #fat32 zu formatieren? Bin ich bei #Windows gelandet? Damit kommt es nicht infrage. Mich hatte der #KDE-Mist im Live-Modus eh genervt. Dann eben keine Neuinstallation. Ich habe für derartige Quereleien keine Zeit mehr übrig.

Якщо вам потрібна універсальна флешка, яка буде відкриватися в Linux та Windows, то найкраще підійде exFAT. Я довго не міг зрозуміти, чому одна флешка завжди працює нормально, а інша ніколи не може змонтуватися автоматично в файловому провіднику Linux. Трохи покопавшись, я помітив різницю у файлових системах. Переформатувавши цю флешку в exFAT замість NTFS, все запрацювало.
Також можна було б використати класичну FAT32, але вона підтримує тільки файли до 4ГіБ (4,294,967,295 байт). Тобто сучасний образ Windows уже не влізе.
Ще помітив, що при спробі відформатувати флешку з-під Windows варіантів, крім NTFS, немає. Ні через контекстне меню розділу в файловому провіднику, ні через "Керування дисками" Windows не пропонує інших варіантів.

LOL🙄 So #Microsoft removed the 32GB size limit for #FAT32 partitions in the latest #Windows11 build but only for the format command line tool, the GUI-based Windows disk formatting tool will still have the 32GB size limit for FAT32 partitions.
Making windows people use the Evil😈 command prompt vs. the GUI 🤣
To me this seems #Microsoft is being crazy lazy on their end, to only change the command prompt of the format tool but not the GUI tool.🙄 😒

Microsoft, for 30 years, has placed an arbitrary limit of 32GB on partitions made using the FAT32 file system, even though they can support up to 2TB.
They are planning to remove that limitation, but from the command line only, using the Graphical format dialogue will still be limited.... because...... reasons.... I guess
