#MutualAidRequest: My car won't start. I've been on a road trip to deal with stuff. I need to get it towed anywhere other than this rest stop I'm at. Please, I need money for the tow and whatever repair. I have no idea what a tow costs. Also, if anyone lives near #FederalWay or #Seattle that can tow me to a place. Please help.

Today I learned that "Bucky's" is apparently short for "Bucky's Hair Lounge and AKMA".

Tomorrow, perhaps I'll learn what AKMA means.

(there's an explanation in the alt text)

A sign reading "Additional parking for Bucky's Hair Lounge and AKMA Customers."

The sign refers to three businesses: Bucky's (auto repair), Hair Lounge (hair place), and AKMA (Academy for Kempo Martial Arts). Without punctuation, it looks like one listing.

Sharing some street art from today's in .

The one was done by a woman protesting beside me, the crown one is my own work.

Hers is better.

A chalk art drawn on a sidewalk. Lettering reads "Make dictators extinct again" and below that, a tyrannosaur is shown eating a person (a crown falling down off their head) beside a heart.

It's perfect.A crude image of a crown with a purple "cancelled" sign. Words can be seen to read "No Kings."

(1/4) Went to the in today with my wife. Believe it or not, we found many gorgeous fleurs. Enjoy.

A charming pink pair of flowers opens up narrow and vibrant pink petals.A pale flower with trumpet-shaped blossoms and tiny red gems at the end of each stamen.A purty pink Camelia blooms in a shady spot.Bright pink, almost purple rhododendrons greet you cheerfully.

(1/3) My wife and I went to visit the in again today, and MOAR things are blooming now than a few weeks ago. Spring is upon us, and my sense of impending doom greatly enjoyed the escapism it had to offer.

Of course, now she wants a couple-couple-couple-couple-couple . I'm not sorry.

A few photos from today's visit to in . My wife and I caught an unexpected low tide during our visit and mostly just walked on the beach.

I've never seen this many in Washington before, there were thousands of them! Only seen that before in Oregon. Had to be careful where we stepped at some points. Two pictures here to demonstrate it, since the zoomed-out one doesn't really do it justice. Each of those dark lines is a sand dollar.

A ten or so sand dollars, partially submerged under sand and shallow water.TONS of sand dollars, probably about a hundred. SO MANY!A cluster of barnacles and mussels clinging to a tree branch; who knew mussels grew on trees?A (formerly) floating walkway extends away from the camera, washed up on the shore.

@jdekg & I agree the were pretty cool too

Photo of a Bonsai tree that looks like a little forest.
Photo of a Bonsai tree in bloom. Lots of pink blossoms—maybe this is a cherry tree? I feel like a goofus for not noting the species names.

Met up with my dealer (my friend Colleen) to score some drugs (Girl Scout cookies) and our rendezvous point was the Bonsai garden—this means I finally got to show @jdekg the beautiful & mysterious old building.

Photo taken on a blustery, cloudy-but-blue-sky March afternoon in western Washington. Picture is of one corner of the now abandoned Weyerhaeuser campus, a building best described as a skyscraper resting on its side. Abundant plantings overflow the walls.
Photo of me, a 40-something white lady, kissing my husband, a 40-something white guy, on the cheek. He looks alarmed, maybe? But not displeased. (I think.) Behind us, the old Weyerhaeuser campus.

Visited in today and walked a chunk of the to clear my head.

Found some nice little mosses and shelf before I got a bit cold and went home. Gotta find sanity where you can these days.

A few shelf fungi reach out from the trunk of a small stump.Moss clings to the sides of a deep crack in an asphalt pathway.Several different moss varieties grow happily together on a rock.A mossy branch sports about a dozen shelf fungi, each spaced an inch or three from the others.

Went for a walk yesterday during my lunch break at work. It seems the around me got the memo that has arrived.

I love the cool air of , the way that the sun filters through and paints stripes of gold and shadow across the trails. The crunch of fallen leaves underfoot. Summer is great, but this is a welcome treat.

A trail extends ahead, coated in freshly fallen leaves as it curves out of sight. The sun overhead brings an otherwise green trail into stark contrasts of bright green and deep shadow.A maple tree changes from top to bottom, green to red in an organic gradient.

I visited this past weekend with my wife, and enjoyed a quiet walk around the loop trail.

I love how green it is where I live. This park is right in the middle of but feels remote and special.

A mossy board walk extends through the forest, covered in leaves and leading toward adventures. Two tiny plastic ducks rest on a tree stump. Just chilling like they do.A small yellow and red flower (Jewelweed, thanks Greg!) blooms, with more in the background out of focus. All covered in light raindrops.A curving wet board walk pivots between maple trees, cedar, and lots of ferns, winding off ahead.
