I'm throwing this out here, but I'm not really enjoying the INTERmission DLC for FF VII Remake.
The overall feeling of this DLC is that it is something not really interesting at all, more on rails respect the original game and moreover, quite difficult compared to the standard game.
I'm at the last battle so I'll be completing it soon (I hope) although the story didn't catch me and I forced myself playing the last hour.
After completing it I'll be able to move to FF 7 Rebirth, hoping they didn't choose to use the DLC settings as a base for the game.
Meh.

Can't help but feel that the side quests on FF VII Remake are just there to lengthen the duration of the chapter while adding so little, because... I remember very well the original edition and after 15 hours I was already well over Costa del Sol and not just poking around Don Corneo's mansion.
Still, the game is quite good although it has some annoying parts (above said side quests).
I'm feeling like going back to No Man's Sky, but, but, Elite Dangerous and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Oh, decisions, decisions.

Completed Intermission. NGL not only I enjoyed it more because Yuffie, but I also loved the bit in the end when the main party just hang out. It felt more genuine warmth than the entire FFXV's supposed best friends in a car. I just cannot hahahhahaha with Aeris trying to hitchhike by mimicking she's going to hit a passing car with her stick.
I guess FFVII's entire point is what don't kill you makes you weirder.
Also something I never really realised, is I think the implication is that each plate has a residential area over it as well. So when Sector 7 was dropped they also killed essentially all the middle class on it. Which makes more sense because I never figured in this worth 50,000 dead poor people would be a worthwhile propaganda.
No wonder the Shinra director ended up so mad that he's puppetting a cat with scottish accent.

Nero is really committed to be the most hated character of the franchise huh.
50 seconds fight -> 2 minutes unskippable cutscene -> 35 seconds fight -> 2 minutes unskippable cutscene -> 75 seconds fight -> 1.5 minutes unskippable cutscene
Of course all the cutscene must happen exactly after I used a spell, so the MP and ATB cost is taken, but never amount to anything.
Whoever came up with phased battles in an action game needs a new career.

Sad face because all of the Potion and Music vending machines are now called Energy Drink Potion. I think it's implied that the signs on the machines are screen based, and changed after Cloud bought the last copy of every CD.

Something I detest with both FFXIV and Remake, is that SE seems to be really confused about what players want when we choose to "lock on" a target.
Whatever it is, it's not randomly shifting through multiple targets based on whatever the shitty janky camera wants the centre to be.

I honestly don't want to hear about Sephiroth ever again, because Wutai is so much more interesting.
I just love how the Shinra/Midgar crowd kept on referring to Wutai as being xenophobic, conveniently ignoring the part where they literally invaded Wutai and pretty much destroyed the place.
Yuffie is a comedian but also, damn I support her cause way more than anyone else in this entire franchise.

This really filled up lots of things I never really understood in the original.
Of course Yuffie would be stealing materia off Cloud 's party. It's not just Yuffie understood materia as a maladaptive short cut to Wutai's future, Barret's branch is technically the enemy of actual Wutai's Avalanche allies by this stage. Plus Yuffie didn't really differentiate Midgar civilians from Shinra at the point of early VII.
Not to mention, an ex Shinra SOLDIER is hardly a civilian by any standard.
