#flanking

Flanking is a popular optional mechanic in D&D 5e that has been officially removed from the 2024 rules. Brawler and #flanking. Note how flanking doesn't give any bonuses out of the box, but if players want to play with it, here are the rules for them to enjoy. They can design abilities that rely or become better with flanking!

Also, bind and wind (which is a very principled medieval fencing move!) is the first rule in #IcyNSR that refers to a rule that's on another non-core card 🤫

# Barwler

You are brutal and tenacious fighter.
If you are in range of a single opponent, you have an advantage on the following moves.
If you are flanked, you have disadvantage on those.

# Kick

Fair brawler (strength) roll to drop someone prone. If you succeed, you may grant an opportunity to attack your prone target immediately.

# Bind and Wind

React to a melee attack miss by opponent by making a fair brawler (build) check. Fail? Suffer 1 stress. Tie? You start a grapple. Win? Inflict 1 stress to the attacker or freely move 1 sq.

# Flanking

Characters have another character flanked if there are two cooperating characters standing on the opposite sides of where the flanked character stands. 2 sq. range weapons flank as shown with the n’ markers:

# Opportunity & Free Move
