Probando #Floorp, muy buenas sensaciones :mastodon_oops:

¿Alguien tiene alguna opinión sobre el navegador Floorp? Es una fork de Firefox.
Por contexto: necesito otro navegador, que no sea LibreWolf. He estado probando Mullvad y WaterFox y ambos chupan muchos recursos. Zen me parece lento y posiciona las pestañas a la izquierda (no me hallo). ¿Alguna sugerencia de fork de Firefox que vaya ligero? Lo requiro para usar unas 10 pestañas (el correo y documentos que abra, poco más).

Floorp Daylight aka Floorp 12 Beta, Version 138.0.2@0.1.21 as available 11 hours ago at https://github.com/Floorp-Projects/Floorp-12/releases/tag/beta, has made a major jump forward in features & reliability.

Now its #Workspaces seem to work, and survive restarts [older Betas failed on one or both of those]
it now has native #MouseGestures and they work [so i can remove #Gesturefy]
its native #WebPanels #Sidebar is less powerful than the #FirefoxSecondSidebar project, but is still excellent & highly usable
its internal special Floorp settings page, now called Floorp Hub, has regained several [albeit certainly not all] of the fab #Floorp11 UI options

Atm the native #Firefox #TabGroups do not respect Workspaces, ie, persist across all of them, unlike ordinary tabs which now do stay in their respective WS. Thus my next focus of interest will be to see if coming Betas manage to fully integrate these Groups into the Workspaces.

TLDR: This latest Beta is such that i can now seriously consider the possibility of using it as more than just a curiosity, & as an actual daily browser.

I should probably look into how functional #Ladybird is and how much effort it would take for me to somehow contribute to them if I run into issues and/or think I can actually help. #Firefox is apparently going to force consent of their new #ToS and I still don't think they've properly addressed all of the issues with that. I also don't know how long I expect them to allow forks to exist, such as #LibreWolf or #floorp .We desperately need a #mobile #browser option that isn't based on either #Chromium or #Safari , but there doesn't currently appear to be anyone developing one that isn't just another fork of Firefox. I hope I'm wrong.

Really enjoying using the #Floorp browser lately, even if the name is ridiculous. Wish they had a fedi account, I'm always surprised when open source projects don't.

When you dive deep into using @zenbrowser as your go-to browser, you’ll notice something pretty quickly.

You end up with around 17 essential tabs, and some of those you just have to pin because you need quick access to your music.

That’s the moment you realize this browser isn’t going anywhere.

All web browsers tested are the latest versions available today, test device is a MacBook M1 laptop (so macOS Sonoma, but the results should be similar regardless of the operating system) with a clean profile, all network connections blocked, application-level network connection whitelisting and only Little Snitch installed. So it’s actually Little Snitch that does all the heavy-lifting, I’m just the robot that is parsing the data.
All network traffic is routed through a VPN in Japan.

I am shocked by Zen, Floorp, Edge. Unsurprised by chrome, although looking at the urls it talks to, it’s not super bad – it’s phishing site data etc. Safari is low, but still more than I expected and Kagi’s Orion and Tor Browser truly take the win with ZERO.

Just switched from #LibreWolf to #Floorp #Browser on my #Arch and #Gentoo computers. I swear that it's faster than LibreWolf and standard #Firefox because a lot of pages just load instantly now.

I'm still in the process of migrating from #Firefox, but the latest relase is pushing built-in AI chatbots 🤮. Turn it off in about:config. My current top alternatives are #LibreWolf #Zenbrowser and #Floorp.

I've been using the #Floorp web-browser for a couple of weeks.

I'm not switching from it anymore.

The web panel implementation is on par with Vivaldi

Ablaze did a great job with this firefork.

Like a mindless moth to a flame, this morn i was tempted to give #ZenBrowser yet another chance, despite its disappointing history of letting me down, eg:

Sadly, yet again after only ~two hours, i had to abandon it again, when i discovered that the bug with the search-bar dropdown menu remains broken, such that choosing impromptu searches in my alternative search engines remains impossible.

So, back i go, yet again, to the lovely... and reliable... :firefox_nightly:
