Your flower post for the day

#bloomscrolling #flowers #spring #flowergarden

Late night crafting. What you do on a friday evening: cutting fabric, basting your hexies, maybe place a few stitches? 😁 It's for (another 🙄 - hello, #ADHD) new project. I want to make a classic grandma's flowergarden Quilt for me to sleep under when it's cold and I try to use mostly upcycled fabric for this project.
(So - if you have old clothes or cloth made from woven cotton/viscose with a nice floral pattern that you don't want anymore - I'm your person!)
This cloth I'm using here is from a beloved jumpsuit from my kid, which is too small now. Other flowers I made from a beautiful indian top I never wore. The blue center is made of linnen cut offs from my first byzantine garb I made for my #LivingHistory hobby nearly 10 years ago.

Gray background, on this is a hexagon patchwork flower with an indigo blue center piece laid out. The six "petals" are made from black cloth with a colourful floral pattern and cute, small animals (bunnies, butterfly...). Thee additional staples with basted hexagons are lying alongside. There are also sewing scissors to be seen. The handle is highly ornamented and golden. It looks like a pattern of lily of the valley.

The first mountain bluet flower. It's on the one that was divided and put in a new location last fall.

A photo of a Centaurea montana flower. It's is a fancy flower with lots of skinny purple bits extending from the ends of other skinny bits and these might be petals. The center is sorta pink with spiky bits and and some dark spikes too. The bulbous part below the flower has a crosshatch pattern on it. The plant leaves are slightly fuzzy but still have some shine. The lighting is filtered sun behind small clouds but shaded by a tree.

Planted out the overwintered verbena and one geranium I didn't plant the other day.

A large pot planter on the side of a post with a pink verbena planted in the middle of it. There is a smaller pot hanging behind the large pot and it also has a verbena in it. There is a hexagon raised bed frame in the background on the lawn that is not mowed because it's May! /s and because the dandelions are still blooming and when they are done it will be mowed and then dutch clover will bloom.

The temperature where I live (central Indiana USA) has been staying fairly stable between 60 to 70 degrees lately. So, I'm officially saying, "WELCOME SPRING"❣

👩‍🌾🌷☀️🌾💜

May flowers are very beautiful, but so are the pretty buds & blossoms on the trees❣

Savor this gorgeous season as the earth comes back to life❣

The Sanguisorba minor (salad burnet) is blooming beautifully again!
I’m always amazed by the soft, feathery flowers — such a charming detail in the garden.

De Sanguisorba minor (kleine pimpernel) staat weer prachtig in bloei!
Ik blijf verliefd op die zachte, pluizige bloemetjes — een echt pareltje in de tuin.

Most of the hyacinths are up now. The soil has been worked over by the nightcrawlers.

A photo showing a hyacinth plant growing. The flower stem with buds? is showing in the middle of 6 leaves. There is a strawberry runner in the upper right and some small mystery seedlings on the left side. The soil has been worked over by earthworms and has some scattered conifer needles and other flower and plant debris from last year on it.

On this sunny morning, we went for a walk and explored a bit of the estate. A truly lovely place to let my writer’s mind wander.

A stone bridge over a river.

The river is about 100 feet wide, with grass and small trees on each bank. The bridge is a stone arched design, with wooden railings along each side. Trees with buds are in the background, likely ready to open within a matter of a few days.A steep, stone stairway leading up into a forested area. Sunlight filtering through the trees lights up the steep grassy area around the steps.A stone pathway weaving within a forested flower garden. Ivy is growing up the leafless (budding) oaks and birches, small flowers are seen along the pathway, and moss is growing between the stone slabs.
