Back from our short holiday in Cadzand-Bad/Netherlands.
I really enjoyed the local food and beer, but most of all the nude beach at #Groede. https://blootkompas.nl/locaties/naaktstrand-groede
The atmosphere at #NaaktstrandGroede was very relaxed and I didn't see any people in swimwear in the nudist area, just people walking along the water.
The nude beach is only about 10 km from #Cadzand-Bad and is easily accessible by bike on a great cycle path (but there is also a large car park for motorists).
On my daily bike tours I explored the surroundings of #cadzandbad and then always relaxed on #Naaktstrand Groede, enjoying the water and the wonderful summer weather.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t often consider college campuses to be on my “Top Ten Places I Want to be Naked” list. However, some Ivy League student groups are working to wildly reshape the conversation around public nudity – starting with streaking on campus.
Brown University may not boast it on their admissions webpage, but they are home to the (in)famous Brown University Naked Society – colloquially known as BUNS. Twice a year, this co-ed student group hosts a Naked Donut Run, bestowing sweet treats upon their peers while in the buff. The group justifies their escapades with the naked truth – they think that “being naked is pretty fun” (B.U.N.S!., n.d.).
Just one state and a few hours away, Yale University students have been known to engage in similar nude shenanigans. These scholars gather biannually for a run throughout campus during which they procure candies to pass out while perfectly pantsless (Tsouris, 2022).
One might assume college students + nudity = sexual. Student experiences vary, but these groups generally don’t promote these activities as fetishistic. In fact, some students outwardly claim the opposite.
One participant in Yale’s so-called “naked parties” notes that you may find yourself admiring the bodies of your peers, “but it never goes beyond that because there’s no reason for it to,” (Tsouris, 2022). Rather, these are opportunities to destigmatize the natural state of the human body – both those of yourself and others.
Higher education students are not the only people embracing body neutrality. Over the past several years, more and more states have taken to revising their public indecency laws as they pertain to nudity...

We’re gathered near the hot tub for the opening ceremony at British Naturism: Sunfolk, a 94-year-old naturist site that’s relaunching after a modern makeover.
As president of the International Naturist Federation (INF-FNI), Deschênes has traveled 3,000 miles to St Albans, a small historic city in London’s commuter belt, which is home to three naturist clubs.
The five-acre site is bucolic: cocooned by mature woodland, with landscaped lawns edged by rhododendrons and a tadpole-filled brook.
There’s an inviting new sauna, a heated pool with floats and toys, plus outdoor showers with a full range of toiletries.
Five smart new glamping pods are nearby, as is a campfire area and a clubhouse with a communal kitchen and an honesty bar with snacks, drinks and ready meals.
It feels like a peaceful oasis, just an hour away from the grit and congestion of central London.
Despite the temperamental British weather (gray skies and gooseflesh are a seasonal hazard) most of the 40 or 50 bodies at this summer celebration are duly liberated.
It’s a jolt at first, seeing habitually veiled organs out and about, but it’s easy to make the adjustment — look at faces, like you normally would. And if your eyes strike flesh when glancing downwards, slide them courteously right.
Before long, the naked bodies feel as natural a part of the scenery as the veteran trees that have been surveying this site for close to a century.

Mark Bass, president of British Naturism, wearing a tool belt to hold his microphone set, addresses the crowd of naturists, some as young as their 20s, but most in midlife or older.
Years of work have gone into restoring the Sunfolk site to the charm of its post-World War II heyday, when parties were common and archive photographs show happy naked families thronging the site.
“Time has moved on,” he says. “The attitude towards actually joining societies, joining clubs, has waned.”

I was standing there naked in the woods in Kent with my spaniel Jessie on a lead and camouflage Crocs on my feet. ‘Oh, she’s just lovely,’ an elderly (clothed) woman we’d bumped into said, as she cooed over the dog. I say ‘we’, because I was with 30 or so other naked blokes, most of them in their 70s, a good 40 years my senior.
The woman and I exchanged pleasantries about Jessie. ‘Yes, she does have a lovely face,’ I agreed, and ‘indeed, such a shiny tail’ before I told her – hushed, gesturing towards the naked old boys – that, ‘I’m not actually a naturist.’ The woman, who until then had seemed not to notice my state of undress, smiled as though to say, ‘If it quacks like a duck…’ whereupon Jessie and I went the other way to catch up with The Naturist Ramblers Club.
I really am not a naturist, but friends of mine point out that naturism has featured prominently in my writing. Five years before my walk in Kent, I spent a couple of days hanging out in Hull at England’s second oldest naturist community, on official business for The Yorkshire Post. It was cold and rainy, but heartwarming. We spent time sitting inside the clubhouse naked on plastic chairs, drinking pints of John Smith’s, talking about Brexit.
A big part of naturism is about trying to desexualise nudity – though lots of naturists find it hard to pin down what it is about the practice that appeals to them. Bob, an old university lecturer I met on my ramble, told me, ‘This is rampant nature worship.’ To him, naturism is about being as close as possible to the nature spirits. Did I ‘get it’? Not fully. But his enthusiasm was a delight.

In the second half of last year, I went to a naturist beach for the first time. I was afraid on my whole walk there that I would chicken out. But there was nobody around for miles—so I stripped. Since then, I’ve done it five more times, at various beaches, with growing confidence, in front of other people who have and have not been clothed. I’ve found great peace in lying naked on the sand, listening to the waves.
But: Over the winter I started to get these feelings of shame and guilt. I was raised a very strict Catholic. And although my mother has been dead for a decade, I can suddenly feel her strong disapproval from beyond the grave.
It’s a conundrum. How would you handle it?

Well, I was in church on Sunday morning for the Feast of Pentecost, celebrating the wacky mandate of the Holy Spirit to go where it pleases—to land, if it likes, right on top of somebody’s head (your head, my head, anybody’s head) and nest there in a throbbing bolus of flame. So yup, I’m ready to get Catholic about this. I’m ready to get dogmatic.
Your body is a gift from God. In the appropriate place (such as a naturist beach), you should be able to go as naked as Adam in the garden and feel not a twinge-let of shame...

I have lived in North Vancouver for 30 years, and although I’d heard rumours of a nudist camp at the top of Mountain Highway, until recently, I had thought it was an urban myth.
Turns out, it’s not. The VanTan Nudist Club has about 60 members. The club has a website and a board of directors, just like any other non-profit society – they’re just naked when they meet. They even enter a float in the Lynn Valley Days parade every year – you can see it on June 21 – and they host a couple of open houses every summer.
The next open house is on Sunday, June 22. Drop in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to see what it’s all about. Clothing is optional.
Not surprisingly, the area that’s owned by the nudist camp is quite secluded and nestled behind two locked gates. The first is just past the public parking lot at the top of Mountain Highway and then there’s a two-kilometre careful drive up a curvy, unpaved road that is typically shared by a steady stream of determined mountain bikers and hikers. Once through the second locked gate, you’ll find yourself completely off the grid on several acres of private property.

In the middle of May, an article was published in several German newspapers about a ‘political education trip to Cap d'Agde’ organised by a local politician. According to the organiser of this trip, the participants were offered an ‘unforgettable naturist swingers holiday with an interesting political programme’. The journalists had adopted this absolutely false mixture of naturism/nudism with pornography/swinging in their articles without questioning or researching.
www.GetNakedGermany.de, as well as the German Nudist Federation (DFK.org) and several nudist clubs wrote to the editors and demanded a correction. Numerous naturists/nudists had commented on the articles online, endeavouring to have them clarified.
Now, with a time delay, the English Yellow Press has taken up the original report and published it. Unfortunately (or intentionally?) without making a clear distinction between naturism/nudism and pornography/swinging.

As summer heats up, people will be stripping down at the state's only clothing-optional public park located in Central Texas. However, being in your birthday suit at Austin's iconic Hippie Hollow may not be as enjoyable if you're being recorded.
A Redditor posted online in the r/Austin group about "creeps" filming naked people minding their business at the park are ruining a beloved activity. Hippie Hollow has been keeping the city "weird" for decades with its long-standing tradition of swimming and sunbathing in the nude.
"People who film women (or men for that matter) at Hippie Hollow without their consent...You ruined one of the coolest things about Austin, and one of the few places in this town one can go swim, let alone enjoy being naked," Reddit user _wallsconce wrote in the post.
But it appears not everyone who attends the park is following its most basic rule - "Please respect the privacy of other visitors and ask permission before taking photographs," per the Travis County Parks website. In the post, _wallsconce shared their experience catching someone recording them at the park and seeing others experience the same has made them not want to visit Hippie Hollow.
"After being filmed myself, and catching creeps filming other people, I can’t bring myself to go there anymore," _wallsconce wrote. "Also setting up on a near empty area of the beach, with TONS of other spots you can sit, right next to a woman trying to enjoy her time there? Then covertly filming? F***. You."
Travis County spokesperson Hector Nieto told MySA in a statement that, "While Travis County Parks cannot verify the anonymous Reddit post, any patron visiting a park who feels threatened by another park visitor should immediately contact Travis County Parks staff and inform them of the situation." He added that anyone feeling threatened at the park can also contact 911 if they can't find park staff...

An Irish woman has told how she was inspired to set up a skinny-dip fundraiser after undergoing treatment for breast cancer — as she wanted to “do something fun” while also raising funds for an important cause.
Deirdre Featherstone came up with the idea for the Strip and Dip in 2012.
The first fundraiser took place the following year and it’s been going strong ever since, raising more than €1.3 million to date for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie.
The charity aims to provide practical and financial support to families of children who are battling childhood cancer.
This year’s Strip and Dip will be taking place today in Wicklow, with hundreds of women from around the country due to take part.
Deirdre told Chic, “It all started when I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer back in 2012. And after my chemo and operation, I wanted to do a charity event and I wanted to do something fun.
“So, the first dip happened in 2013 and there were 44 of us on the beach. We’ve been running the Dip ever since.
"In 2018, we had over two and a half thousand ladies on the beach — and we broke the Guinness World Record for the largest skinny dip in the world. That day alone raised €500,000.
“The Dip to date has raised €1.3 million for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. That’s helped us purchase a house in Crumlin, which we’ve named Aoibheann’s Lighthouse. The families use it if their children are going through treatment at Crumlin Hospital.”
Deirdre added that after 44 Dippers in the first year, the number of Dippers has grown every year...

Passengers will embark on their clothing-free journey from The Barbican Landing Stage, setting sail around the Plymouth Sound and proceeding along the River Lynher towards St Germans. The voyage promises stunning views of the Sound, followed by the charming River Lynher, with the added spectacle of Royal Navy ships moored along the River Tamar.

Enter California native Linda Weber, who serves as President of the American Association for Nude Recreation, the oldest and largest organization of its kind in North America. AANR supports more than 180 chartered clubs, resorts, and campgrounds and serves approximately 30,000 members and 52 million clothing-optional enthusiasts across the U.S., Canada, and internationally.
A lifelong nudist, Weber has become a dedicated ambassador for non-sexualized social nudism, a movement that promotes body acceptance and positivity, personal freedom and self-respect.
“Nudism is about comfort, respect, and authenticity. If you approach your visit with an open mind, good manners, and a towel, you will find the experience both freeing and deeply affirming.
