Broken or only? What surrounds us influences how we are perceived.

A round window that looks broken, but is actually just reflecting thin, naked branches from a close by tree.

#fridaywindow I just have to show you the window that goes with yesterday's door. They look similar, of course, but I think the window with the small columns underneath is a beauty in its own right. The building is in Isla Christina, a fishing village in Spain. The building dates from 1927. This is evident, maybe, in the image of the woman in the tiles above the window. Those ribbons in her hair were common at that time. Although back then (when The Charleston dance was trendy) they didn't wear their hair up, but often cut it short. So it could also have been a Roman woman. Does anyone know more about that? #spain #streetart #streetphotography #photography #fediverse #travel #windows #architektura
In the center is a vertical window with bright red painted mullions and white curtains. It's probably a doorway. At the bottom, between two narrow tiled borders, are four small, graceful columns in blue-green. Around the window is a decorative border of small reddish-brown stones. Around that, another wide decorative border of tiles in blue, green, yellow, and purple. The same image appears on the left and right: a long stand (like a lamp or candlestick) with an angel or something similar on top. Above the door is a woman's head with dark brown hair and a yellow band around her hair.

My window-gate to the real world from my workshop-bedroom. I look for a reality check, but it's always peaceful and quiet, so I go back to dreaming. 🎞️ Fomapan 200 📷 Canon AE-1 #FridayWindow #Photography #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead

A moody black and white photograph shot on Fomapan 200 film. The view looks out from a dark, silhouetted interior through a window covered by sheer, textured curtains. The dark outline of a houseplant's leaves frames the right side of the image. Through the glass, a bright, modern residential building with balconies and railings is visible across the street. The image has high contrast, emphasizing the deep shadows of the room against the bright reality outside.

#fridaywindow The beautiful windows of the St. Jacobus de Meerdere church in The Hague, a neo-Gothic church built between 1875 and 1878. The windows are magnificent, but just as impressive are the paintings on the walls, ceilings, and pillars. The pillars appear to be made of stone, but in reality, they were painted on. It's incredibly beautifully done and looks realistic. It was the first Catholic church permitted to be visible in the streetscape at that time. While there were Catholic churches, they were not permitted to be visible. The city council allocated a small plot, but Pierre Cuypers, a renowned architect known for Amsterdam Central Station and the Rijksmuseum, built the church very tall and employed all sorts of tricks to maximize the surface area and make the church appear larger than it actually was. The tower became the tallest in The Hague. Partly due to the expensive painting, the St. Jacob's Church was the most expensive Dutch church of the 19th century. But a century later, in 1960, there was significant deferred maintenance, and the church was threatened with closure. This was met with widespread protest, and restoration was therefore decided upon. In 1970, the church was declared a listed building, which led to state funding, allowing restoration to begin. Between 2000 and 2010, the interior of the church and the tower were restored for €10 million, preserving this magnificent church in all its splendor for posterity. #thehague #denhaag #nederland #fensterfreitag #colorfulwindows #windows #church #historic #history #catholicchurches #photography #photo #fediverse #fridaywindows #travel
A photograph of the interior of a church, taken diagonally from below. From the left corner to the right is a large pillar, painted with small, brown-red bricks alternating with beige, stone-colored bands. At the top, the pillar flares out, with painted borders that extend into the ceilings to the left and right. To the left of the pillar, the wall above a large arch is also painted with stones. Within it are four closed windows, the middle two of which are painted with saints. Above that, a multicolored stained-glass window. At the top right, first, the ceiling is painted with subdued green motifs, and below that, in the wall, a large, round, multicolored stained-glass window (with floral motifs), and below that, four arched stained-glass windows depicting saints.

#fridaywindow #fensterfreitag Reflection in a window of the "Kloosterkerk (Monastery church)" on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague. #reflection #windowreflection #streetphotography #window #photography #fediphoto #reflectionphotography #denhaag #thehague #nederland
A tall church window with beautiful arches and curves of old yellow-brown stones is photographed from below and diagonally from left to right. The light blue sky is reflected in the windows, and the roof of an adjacent building is reflected in dark blue.

#fridaywindow Again a mirrored photo (multiple time's) but now within a single frame and not apart like the last one. The windows, due to the reflection of the sun, look almost metallic. I like that. An abstract image created by mirroring the same photo of an office building's windows multiple times, angled to create multiple waves in a V-shape. The color is gray and metallic.

An inflatable sculpture that comes out of the window of the Pulchri studio, a gallery in The Hague. It is a work of art by Kiki & Joost and is part of a sculpture exhibition on the Lange Voorhout. #fenster #fensterfreitag #window #fridaywindow #colorfulwindows #art #denhaag #nederland #photography #photo #fotografie #fediphoto
The facade of the historic building of the Pulchri Studio, a gallery in The Hague. The many high windows with white window frames on the first and second floor contrast with the brown-red painted bricks of the building. From a window in the middle above the entrance comes an inflated, blue, thick snake with a curl up to the roof in the shape of a nine. On the snake are red and yellow arrows. The leg of the snake rests on the pavement in front of the door. Next to the snake is a white statue of Eppe de Haan.

#fensterfreitag I thought this was such a cheerful window. What fun and wahat a nice figurines, maybe made by one of the residents. It's a nice collection. I photographed the window in Hoorn, the Netherlands. #fridaywindow #windows #streetphotography #urbanphotography #photography #photo #photos #nederland #thenetherlands #amateurphotography
The photo consists of half of a high window with green painted door jambs. The window is divided into parts with green jambs, two vertical and 1 horizontal. There are 6 small panes visible. On the windowsill a colorful display of clay figurines. There are elves, fat women and men, heads on very long necks, in the middle four gnomes. In the background in the house you see a white staircase going up on the right and on the left the gate of a landing. It is a stately house.
