Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

Over this weekend, Fringe Fiction got several doses of Jason Statham over this weekend with A Working Man, The Beekeeper, Wrath of Man and Wild Card. This is our take on his films which he plays similar characters but in different environments (somewhat) and one-offs (at least Fringe Fiction is aware of). So let's…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

With fall coming upon us and football season as well, Fringe Fiction did watch three movies this weekend: Acid, 28 Years Later and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Acid is an intriguing family drama set amidst of a possibility -- a catastrophic weather event involving acid rain. However, the…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies *

Last Thursday, Philadelphia Eagles won their first game of the 2025-2026 season over the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 but not without penalties and fines. It was a relatively quiet game on both sides despite the score. Miles Sanders, the former Philadelphia Eagle, was quite productive in the…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

Today is indeed Labor Day. Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend! Fringe Fiction did watch a few more movies. We watched Mickey 17, Zombiology: Enjoy Yourself Tonight and The Hunted. Mickey 17 is a strange and somewhat methodically paced science-fiction drama. Although it attempts to discuss the issue of individualism somewhat,…

Megan 2.0…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

Fringe Fiction did watch a few movies this weekend. They were Karate Kid: Legends, Operation Undead, and Emergency Declaration. This selection was definitely worth a watch except maybe the last one, depending on your view on drama. Karate Kid: Legends stars Ben Wang, Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio in a relatively fast-paced martial…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

After a sunny weekend, Fringe Fiction was able to watch a movie this weekend: Wolf Creek 2. In Fringe Fiction's opinion, not quite as impactful as the first. Admittedly, the movie does have its flaws, primarily its main protagonist, and the film definitely points that out. It does goes on the periphery of elements of The Collection somewhat in this film.

Conan: The Barbarian Free Comic Book Day May 2025

Plot Conan the Cimmerian is in pursuit of his prey in Numalia. It turns out the golden bracelet that Conan bears is calling him toward confrontation with a god. Review Short introduction to the world of Conan the Cimmerian, and a mild one at that. Verdict (Out of 10) Fringe Fiction gives this comic a 6.8 out of 10. Readable but too brief. As always you…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

After a nice weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction watched a couple of fairly good movies: Deadpool & Wolverine and Better Man. Deadpool & Wolverine wasn't too bad overall. An entertaining summer flick but that doesn't quite have the charm of the first two in Fringe Fiction's opinion. The fight scenes were definitely tops, but the story did have…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

Fringe Fiction watched three movies over this weekend: Final Destination: Bloodlines and Heads of State. Final Destination: Bloodlines was pretty good although in all fairness, it did not play out like the previous Final Destination movies. It did keep its campiness if not go overboard at the end. It was the final appearance of Tony Todd in Final Destination…

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

On this dreary day in Philadelphia, we did watch a couple of movies. Terminator: Genisys in Fringe Fiction's opinion is still an underrated Terminator movie. It does deviate from the original timeline and turns the timeline on its head. It is also more optimistic at the end than some of the other Terminator movies. It is worth a watch. However, some may beg to differ.

Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies

It was a relatively warm weekend in Philadelphia as Fringe Fiction took a bit of a sabbatical to resolve some things. We did watch a few movies however. Until Dawn initially did have a whole lot of promise but sort of muddled in the middle and ultimately failed in the end in Fringe Fiction's opinion. It resembled a lot of…

Barbaric Born in Blood #1 Comic Book Review

Plot Owen, Soren and Axe soon meet Steel. They soon meet Booshu and soon find out that barbarians are refusing to fight. Owen and his group encounter Balant and soon discover other enemies.
