So, that's something, hopefully hope.
There's been a lot of Twitch/YouTube/Twitter related drama involving huge creators recently.
I want to see some of these people break out on their own, and come to the Fediverse instead.
I'm not going to name any names, and that's because I don't want to get into any arguments over who is on the right or the wrong side of said drama.
Regardless, these people have enough of a following that if they just up and left corporate platforms, their audiences DEFINITELY WOULD follow them here… and they would be able to say whatever it is they want to say without having to censor themselves constantly like they do now. Also, and I'm still not TECHNICALLY naming anyone here, even if I might as well be: I think a lot of them would be a lot safer here than they are there. I'll just leave it at that.
There are, of course, the bad actors in all of this. Well, we all know what usually happens to bad actors around here: they get defederated. Simple as that.
You may ask: "Well, how would they make money here?" Well, therein lies the problem, I'm afraid. If someone who's already made it financially wants to come over here, and do whatever it is they want to do, just because they can, then they, IMHO, are awesome. It would be a huge boost to the Fediverse itself, even if I don't happen to like them. The benefit would outweigh the harm, if you ask me.
We just need someone who's willing to walk away from all of the money they're already making, which is the hard part, understandably.
