It’s easy for a Governor who hasn’t had to think about paying a bill for years to say we don’t need the programs he’s cutting. But Georgians who don’t have health insurance, whose roads aren’t holding up, and whose wages have stayed too low as costs skyrocket disagree. #gapol
Governor is bragging about our rainy day fund because he’s underfunding everything else. That’s like bragging about your savings account with all your bills still unpaid. #GAPol
Day 1 at the Capitol, and y’all showed up. Hundreds packed the halls demanding an agenda that puts people over corporations. For a moment, it truly felt like the people’s house! #GAPol
Keeping track of things at the back-in-session #Georgia Legislature, and this seems a little on the nose in our current environment.
I'm most of the way through creating the API for my #Georgia state legislature tracking.
There's still some cleanup, but it provides:
- list of sessions
- chamber summaries
- committee info
- legislation info
- votes
I need to tie legislation to authors/sponsors. And then create a website for it. After that I will add RSS feeds and, finally, Fediverse bots to let you follow legislation and/or members in your feed.

TL;DR: What are good methods for managing a few hundred bots on #GoToSocial?
I talked a couple weeks ago about my project tot make it easier to follow the work of the #Georgia state legislature.*
I'm hoping to take the initial API live in a couple of days. But now I'm thinking ahead to the Fediverse accounts I want to have.
In addition to the main, summary accounts, I intend to have accounts for each district, so "(at)GaSenate1" for Senate district 1 (no tags on those posts, you either follow or you don't.)
I've written number of bots, but handling bot overhead - not to mention authentication to get the tokens - seems a bit daunting when you're talking about 250is accounts.
What are some good ways to do this? Since I'll control the server and everything I'd like to script as much as possible. And I probably won't use actual bot code for the posts, just end point points directly.

Started it running last night, with some throttling so it's not crazy. Their SOAP API goes back to 2001. It's currently working its way backwards and is doing the 2005-2006 session.
I'm working on a new project to make it easier to follow the #Georgia state legislature.
Besides a website and RSS feeds, I'm thinking of mastodon account that posts legislative action.
I'm curious if it'd be worth it to make individual accounts for votes by each member. Partly that seems like overkill. But part of me thinks it be easier to just follow, say, your reps.
