I've just replaced our cheapo pwm (probably) solar charged controller we have setup in the garden with a Victron SmartSolar 75/15 mppt controller that I spotted reduced on Amazon. It's significantly overkill for our setup, but once I have it combined with the recently bought ESP32 I'll be able to grab the data from it live and pump it into Home Assistant. Then we can get some decent data on how much we're generating with our small budget panels so we know how much load we can support for new garden lighting, the design of which is yet to be determined. I'm expecting to need to get some upgraded panels and battery at some point but at least this way we're not guessing
