Just to say that my complaints about #gash seem unfounded since my issues came from the #nixos package gash-utils and not #gash itself
gash-utils reimplement many cli command tool, and the few little discrepencies with my installed ones (sometimes they are those from busybox, sometimes toybox, sometimes coreutils, I do not pay enough attention on this) are the source of my problems with my existing bash scripts (they are sort of low profile "oh-my-zsh"... rather a "uh-my-bash")
So I may eventually have a try at #guix inside #nixos someday. I was afraid but I was wrong.
ouch... #gash is still a bit touchy
(edited: it is gash-utils the source of my issues, not gash)
I have too much former #bash scripts that break, so I wont make it my default shell for now
I am hooked by the idea. Let's see what I can use from it anyway, maybe as a ad-hoc shell
EDIT2: after investigation, it is my dependency on the #nixos package gash-utils that causes my issues, and not #gash
As it is #guix philosophy, it seems #gash reimplements its own linux 'tr' command from scratch, which seems to break some of my former bash scripts.
Not investigated much. Otherwise I am just starting to exploring it.
(EDIT: it is the package gash-utils that was the source of my problem, not gash itself)

One major aspect of this is that different sets of users are sharing different frames, and this is creating conflict between well-intentioned users. While there are arguably many #frames, let’s look at 3 from #Orlikowski and #Gash’s seminal 1994 paper and how they play into the Twitter -> #MastodonMigration:
1. Nature of Technology
2. Technology Strategy
3. Technology-in-use
(Note that these are interconnected, but we categorize distinct aspects for more helpful analysis.) 2/12

Have you tried out #gash (guile as shell)? https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/gash/
I haven't, but it's on the list—a lot of the same advantages as the original scsh
