The DC Queer Tango Collective today had a beginner lesson on doing turns from the cross followed by an intermediate lesson. In the intermediate lesson, we learned how leaders can smoothly rotate in the middle, how followers can ensure they don’t pull the leader off balance, and how to transform those turns into two other steps: sacada and gancho.

We were at the shared dance floor of Pitchers & A League of Her Own, a pair of queer sports bars showing men’s and women’s sports respectively.
