In the breakdown by version people are mostly using current releases (as in other gb jams) for #GBstudio, #GBDK and #ZGB when making games.

Though a few people use (much) older versions.

#Minesweeper on the #GameBoy as it was meant to be played 😎

Forked a open source #GBDK minesweeper by Alberto Cozzi to add #SuperNintendo Mouse support via the link port.

Modified the Inside Gadgets USB keyboard adapter firmware to work with a mouse.

Prompted by a recent GB paint program demo, taking a lil detour to try hooking a #SNES Mouse directly up to #GameBoy (snes controller protocol over link port).

Commited a few crimes with the latch and clock polarity (signal inverter not here yet), but it still manages to ~work on a DMG.

@pixelambacht It's a nearly identical clone with a few register address and bits changed.

Kind of a pain to rom patch GB games for it, but not hard to target if you're building games from scratch (it's a build switch in #gbdk , though if you do music you need a modified sound driver).

The MegaDuck people never made any games that used the link port, but I determined it has identical behavior and pinout as Game Boys. The port is bare header pins but easy to make an adapter for.

Single-screen layout will remain the default in GBDK-NES. 8bit coordinates provide better compatibility with GBDK games targeting GB/GG/SMS.

It also means less memory / CPU cycles, which can be important to minimize.

But for those who really want to avoid seams, there will now be options.
