man, i really wish #gdq just used milestone incentives for "bonus games." ii get that they're trying to coax people into donating more than they'd like to, but the whole "guys we're definitely gong to skip this game if you don't donate" thing is always exhausting.

Hey #GamesDoneQuick #GDQ Idk how to contact you! I want to know if you'd be interested in a program that can autocut vods from the stream and upload them to youtube in real time instead of the very probably manual process you're doing right now.
I'm down to do this as an OSS project if you're interested. Let me know! (Also if you know someone who works on GDQ send this to them!)
(Real time is a goal, but minimum it shouldn't be too hard to mass process and upload the all the cuts to youtube at the same time)
At the beginning of the marathon, the representative for Doctors Without Borders mentioned that the massive defunding of US-government-backed initiatives means they have to work twice as hard and stretch resources twice as far to close the gap. The GDQ audience is responding enormously and has reached $200,00 in 23 hours, which I believe is the fastest this milestone has ever been reached.
Oh, and we reached it while the Rollercoaster Tycoon runner was plunking down as many blue-and-pink coasters named Trans Rights as humanly possible

Today is the start of Summer Games Done Quick. And holy hell with everything going on these days, I need it. A wonderful community, a fantastic production, a solid week of #gaming goodness, and raising a whole lot of money for a fantastic cause.
#SGDQ2025 starts today!
For those who haven't heard of it, it's a charity marathon steam (plus in-person event for many of the runners) that raises money for Medicines Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders). Some of the best runners in the world speedrun games for an entire week, and while there's sometimes cringey moments, it's overall an LBGTQ-inclusive space with a thoughtful core team, and there are always going to be a ton of epic and/or hilarious moments throughout the week.
Check out the schedule page to see if any games you love are on it, and you can always catch VODs on YouTube after the fact if you miss something good.
